POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (December 2, 2016) — The Vassar College men's (4-2) and women's (5-1) squash teams host Bard College and Tufts University at Kenyon Hall on Sunday, Dec. 4, with action kicking off as early as 11 a.m.
For the men, Vassar will face Bard (6-0) at 11 a.m. and Tufts (4-0) at 2:30 p.m., while the Brewer women will face the Raptors (0-2) at 11:15 a.m. and the Jumbos (3-0) at 2:45 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Vassar men suffered 8-1 losses to Connecticut College and Haverford College at home on Nov. 19, while the women swept their competition, defeating Conn College 6-3 and Haverford 8-1 for their third straight victory.
A Look At The Brewer Men (4-2):
- With wins over Siena College, Fordham University, Lafayette College and Swarthmore College, the men opened the season 4-0 for the first time since 1993-94, a season in which they finished 15-9 on the campaign.
- The Brewers have since fallen in their two most recent meetings, at the hands of Conn College and Haverford.
- Vincent Mencotti kept the Brewers from getting shut out, topping Michael Rodriguez of Conn College 11-3, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7 and Peter Dudley of Haverford 11-4, 14-12, 11-9 at the one.
- Mencotti is one of six Brewers to notch a team-high four wins, as Richard Bryenton, Lucas Fifer, Caden Gruber, Viraj Nadkarni and Alex Riccio are all 4-2 on the season as well.
- Nadkarni has stood out during his freshmen campaign, starting the year with four straight victories at the No. 2 position.
- The Brewers have already improved upon their 2015-16 season, wherein they finished 2-15 overall and 1-3 in Liberty League play.
- This season, the men boast three captains in Bryenton, Hammer and Mencotti, all of whom are seniors.
A Look At The Brewer Women (5-1):
- The Brewers look to continue to build off their 5-1 season, as they've already beaten Fordham University, Mount Holyoke College, Colgate University, Connecticut College and Haverford College.
- Vassar has posted two shutouts, beating Fordham and Colgate 9-0, while only getting shut out once in its lone loss to William Smith College.
- The Brewers are a perfect 4-0 at Kenyon and 1-0 on the road, while their lone loss has come at a neutral site.
- Isabelle Bertram, Diana Howland, Cherylann Mucciolo, Sydney Nemphos, Hannah Nice, Alessandra Pilkingont, and Kelly Rissman all ride winning streaks into Sunday, having won their three most recent outtings.
- Bertram, Howland, Mucciolo, Nice, Pilkington and Rissman all sport team-leading 5-1 records.
- The Brewers look to build off their 2015-16 campaign, in which they finished 7-9 overall.
- This year, Vassar boasts three captains in Bertram, Nice and Carly Scher.
A Look At The Raptor Men (6-0):
- The Bard men are perfect on the season with wins over Northeastern University, Brandeis University, Lafayette College, Colgate University, Swarthmore College and most recently Sienna College.
- The Raptors have posted three shutouts so far this season, beating Brandeis, Lafayette and Siena by 9-0 decisions.
- Their lowest margin of victory was 6-3, against Northeastern and Colgate.
- Bard has allowed just seven match points through six games.
- Bard's 6-0 start is the best in program history.
- Through six games last season, the Raptors were 5-1, and they look to continue building off that season, in which they finished 11-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
- This season, Abe Etkin is the lone captain on the men's side.
- Rhys Nordstrom, Ayateru Maeda and Julian Dime have rounded out the top three spots for Bard.
A Look At The Raptor Women (0-2):
- Bard launched its women's squash team as a club program this season.
- The Bard women are 0-2 on the season with an 8-1 loss to Colgate and a 7-2 setback against the University of Rochester.
- Against Colgate, Francesca Keller picked up Bard's lone win, defeating Emily Dowling at the two spot, 11-9, 11-6, 11-6.
- Against Rochester, Bard found success in its top two spots, as Francesca Cornaili and Keller defeated their opponents in straight sets.
- Following their meetings in Poughkeepsie, the Raptors have just three more meetings on their schedule.
A Look At The Jumbo Men (4-0):
- The Jumbo men are 4-0 on the season with wins over Boston College, Colby, Bryant and Brandeis.
- Tufts has shut out two teams thus far, taking down Bryant 9-0 and Brandeis 8-0.
- The Jumbos lowest margin of victory was a 6-3 win over Colby, as they've allowed just four match points over four games.
- Raghav Kumar, Connor P. Wind and Aidan Porges round out the top three Tufts players at the one, two and three spots.
- Against Brandeis, Raghave took down Wit Gan 11-6, 11-1, 11-2, Wind beat Michael Jiang 11-6, 11-4, 11-2, and Aidan topped E K Chung 11-8, 11-2, 11-0.
- The Jumbos look to improve upon last season, in which they finished 14-9 overall.
A Look At The Jumbo Women (3-0):
- The Jumbo women are perfect on the season with wins over Boston College, Colby and Mount Holyoke.
- Tufts struggled the most against Colby, but still pulled out a 5-4 victory.
- Hannah Burns, Claire F. Davidson and Catherine Shanahan round out the Jumbos' top spots at the one, two and three.
- Against Mount Holyoke, Burns battled
- Tufts looks to improve upon last season, in which it finished 13-9 overall.
- The Jumbos are comprised of eight freshmen, four sophomores, no juniors and one senior.
Next Up: Vassar will next compete on Saturday, Jan. 21 in Haverford, PA. The men will face Haverford College at noon and Swarthmore College at 3:30 p.m., while the women will take on Haverford at 2 p.m. and Johns Hopkins University at 5 p.m.
