Game Coverage: (Live Stats) (Live Video) Last Time Out: The Vassar offense turned in its best performance of the season on September 19, getting six goals from six different scorers to blank Manhattanville 6-0. The Brewers dominated from the get-go in the game at Gordon Field, outshooting the Valiants 31-1 with an 11-0 edge in corner kicks.
A Look at the Hawks: New Paltz has struggled in its non-conference schedule so far in 2015, holding a 1-6 record heading into Tuesday's matchup. After winning its first game 4-1 over Purchase, the Hawks have dropped six straight. Three out of the last four losses for New Paltz have been one-goal games, including a 1-0 overtime loss to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on September 19. This will be the last game for New Paltz before starting SUNYAC conference play on Friday, September 25.
Junior Skye Kaler leads the team in scoring with two goals and an assist in seven games. The Hawks have played three different goalkeepers so far this season, with sophomore Katelyn Cordero getting the nod to start in four games. Junior Mikaela Stiklickas played the entire game in the cage for the
Hawks vs. RPI, making five saves in the overtime defeat.
Against New Paltz All-Time: Vassar is 17-7 all-time vs. the Hawks, and this will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2011 season.
History Repeats: Vassar has now beaten Manhattanville by a margin of 6-0 in two consecutive meetings. The Brewers earned a 6-0 victory almost a year ago to the date on September 20, 2014 with six goals from five different scorers.
Liberty League Around the Corner: The Brewers are quickly approaching conference play here in 2015, with a Liberty League doubleheader scheduled for October 2 and 3 on the road at St. Lawrence and Clarkson. St. Lawrence is currently undefeated at 7-0, while Clarkson holds a 6-1 record through the first month of the season.

In the Record Books: Senior
Emma Nichols (Lexington, MA/Lexington) has jumped a few spots on the all-time lists in a couple statistical categories through the first five games of 2015. She is now eighth in career saves (150) and tied for sixth in career shutouts (8) with Lisa Strumwasser ('07).
Overtime Warriors: Vassar has already played three overtime contests in 2015, matching its total extra time games from last season. After finishing in with three ties in OT last season, it's been feast or famine for the Brewers this year going 2-1 in OT games. VC topped NYU on a golden goal on September 5, before suffering a sudden death loss to Stevens on September 12. The Brewers came out on the right side of overtime the following day with a win over Whitman.
Knocking on the Door: Vassar is currently receiving votes (2) in the NSCAA Division III East Regional Poll.
Freshmen First: The class of 2019 came to play against NYU, as both goal scorers were freshmen in a big 2-1 double overtime victory. Freshman
Audrey Pillsbury (Laguna Beach, CA/Laguna Beach) buried her first collegiate goal in the 35
th minute, while
Rebecca Andrews (Los Altos, CA/Los Altos) finished a beautiful header in the closing minutes of overtime to break the tie against the Violets. It was the first time since 2006 that two freshmen scored the first two goals of the season for Vassar, when Molly Mackin and Anna Robinson scored a pair of goals vs. St. Joseph's College.
Speaking of First-Years: The freshmen have made an immediate impact on the Brewer squad this season, accounting for 44% of the points scored so far.
Rebecca Andrews currently leads the team in scoring with three goals and an assist.
Defending Gordon: Vassar was fantastic on the natural grass surface of Gordon Field last season, finishing undefeated at home with a 6-0-2 record. The Brewers allowed just one goal at Gordon, while scoring 14 over the course of eight games. After beating Manhattanville, Vassar now holds a 10-game unbeaten streak at Gordon.
On to the Next One: Vassar will be back on Gordon Field this Saturday, September 26 when the team hosts No. 25 Montclair State University at 2:00 pm.
