What To Look ForThe Brewers have been great on their home turf this season going 8-0 on Weinberg Field, as they look to finish their second consecutive year undefeated at home. The last time the Brewers lost at home was exactly two years to the day from Saturday's affair, against the Hawks of New Paltz. It's been 17 games since that contest on October 31, 2013, and VC now holds the second-longest home winning streak in the nation.
A Look At The Hawks (13-4, 5-1 SUNYAC)New Paltz comes into Saturday's season finale off of a 2-0 win against Kean University on Tuesday evening, chalking up the fifth shutout of the season for the Hawks. New Paltz is second in the SUNYAC in goals scored this season with 47, and is allowing just 1.06 a game, also second-best in the league. The Hawks athleticism has been a strength for them this season, pressuring teams and earning the most penalty corners of any SUNYAC squad with 194. Their 14 penalty corners per game is the fifth-best in Division III, and the squad's goals against average is 17
th in the nation.
Individually, Kayla McKeveny paces the offensive attack for the Hawks, as she has posted a team-best 12 goals to go with three assists. Her 27 points are the second-most in the SUNYAC this season. Jessica Caruana has also chalked up eight goals on the year, while Hayley Kim leads the conference with eight helpers. Caruana has contributed seven assists as well this year, and Rachel McLaughlin and Erin Landy have each netted six goals. Colleen Roemer has five of the team's eight defensive saves, and Alayna Wageman has a .848 save percentage this season, which is ninth in the country.
Against New Paltz All-TimeVassar and New Paltz have played a very competitive all-series, with the Hawks holding a 7-6 edge over the Brewers. New Paltz has won the last five contests, scoring at least three goals in the past four outings.
