Union opened the year with a pair of 9-0 dual match victories over Bard and SUNY-Plattsburgh, before falling to Skidmore and Hamilton on September 20 and 23 (respectively). The Dutchwomen finished 4-12 overall during their 2014-15 campaign with a 1-6 mark in the Liberty League. Vassar cruised to a 9-0 decision when the teams met last season on October 4, 2014.
A Look at the Raptors: Bard will be looking for its first win of the fall season this weekend when the Raptors matchup with VC, as the team carries a 0-5 record into Saturday. The Raptors hold a 0-2 mark in the Liberty League after dropping their opening head-to-head matches 0-9 to RPI and Union. Bard has kept things closer as of late, dropping decisions to Hartwick (3-6), St. Joseph's Long Island (2-7) and SUNY-Plattsburgh (3-6) over the past few weeks. Vassar was perfect in its dual match against Bard last season on October 4, winning every game in both singles and doubles to secure the 9-0 shutout.
Good Start: Last year Vassar was able to get off to its first 2-0 start in Liberty League play since the 2011-12 season. The Brewers will look to repeat the trend this year.
Looking Ahead: The Vassar women's tennis team will reconvene next February when the squad begins its spring schedule.
