What to Look For: Vassar returns to game action this weekend after a one-week hiatus. The Brewers tied with Stevens last year for the tournament title, while NYU has won the tournament outright twice in 2008 and 2009. This will be the first appearance for Cortland at the Engineering Cup.

A Look at the Ducks: The Ducks opened 2014 with a 4-0 home loss to five-time national champion Messiah College on August 29, but bounced back two days later with a 7-0 shutout over Brooklyn College. In the victory last Sunday, sophomore Raba Nassif tallied a career-high four goals and netted her hat trick within the first 13:18 of the contest. Junior Kristen Goncalves recorded four points on a goal and two assists, while sophomore Rachel Chavkin and freshman Sandi Komar picked up their first collegiate goals. The Ducks outshot Brooklyn, 38-2.

Against Stevens All-Time: Vassar is 3-6 all-time against the Ducks, but emerged victorious the last time the teams met at the 2013 Engineering Cup. The Brewers came out ahead in a 2-1 OT thriller, as senior Chloe Wheeler (Thousand Oaks, CA/Westlake) and junior Kamaria Coley (Washington, DC/Acad. Of the Holy Cross) both netted goals. Four out the last five meetings between the schools have been decided by one goal.

A Look at Cortland: The Red Dragons dropped their only match this year, 2-0, to No. 17 Misericordia University on August 29. Cortland was held to just three shots in the contest, all of which were saved, but received a solid performance from its own goalkeeper, sophomore Rachel Axt, who stopped six shots in the loss. Cortland does possess three of its top four goal scorers from a year ago. Seniors Amanda Margolis (3G, A) and Caitlin Guerra (3G), and junior Jessica McFadden (2G, 2A) will all look to record their first points of 2014.

Against Cortland All-Time: Vassar and Cortland will meet for the first time this weekend when the squads play on Sunday at noon.

MVP! MVP!: This year's Stevens Engineering Cup features the two past recipients of the tournament's MVP award, Stevens senior Ann Heine and the 2012 winner – Chloe Wheeler.

Last Time Out: Vassar topped Mt. St. Mary (NY) 1-0 in its season opener on August 29 to move to 1-0 on the season. Chloe Wheeler scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute on a feed from freshman Jessica Schwed (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), while junior goalie Emma Nichols (Lexington ,MA/Lexington) finished with four saves.

Moving Up the Record Books: 2014 could prove to be a very special year for senior Chloe Wheeler, as the Thousand Oaks, CA native entered the season ranked ninth all-time in Vassar history in career points (22). Her first goal of the year moved her into a tie for eighth with Anna Robinson with 23 career scores, and also a tie for 10th with Susannah Renzi with 51 career points.

At the Helm: Corey Holton enters her first season as the head coach of the Vassar women's soccer program, after spending the last year as an assistant at Division I Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. Assistant coach Pamela Monnier is back for her second season with the Brewers in 2014.

Fierce Freshmen: This year's freshmen class has already made an immediate impact for the Brewers in 2014, as freshman Jessica Schwed recorded an assist in her first career game at Vassar. Fellow newcomer Katie Voegtlin (Fairfax Station, VA/Lake Braddock) has also been a force in the midfield in the early goings of the season, and will be counted on for major minutes this year.

This is Your Captain Speaking: The 2014 senior class of Kim Kogler (Colorado Springs, CO/Pine Creek), Sarah Bourenane (Carrollton, TX/Hebron), Lily Lanier (Brookline, MA/Brookline) and Chloe Wheeler will serve as the team's captains this season.

Coming Up Next: Vassar will continue it's four-game road stretch with game's slated against Wesleyan University (9/10) and NYU (9/13).
