What To Watch For
The Brewers will have to do something this season that they haven't had to do so far, which is responding to a loss. Vassar (5-1) has been really solid this season defensively, but the Brewers will face a solid offense in WCSU. The Colonials have scored three or more goals in three of their five games, including five twice. Watch to see what offense takes the majority of possession on Wednesday.

A Look At the Colonials
Western Connecticut State University has rebounded from an opening-season, 4-0 loss to New Paltz by winning its last four games. WCSU is 3-0 at home this season, as the team is currently in the midst of a five-game home stand. Most recently, the Colonials knocked off Salem State back on September 13, earning a 5-2 decision thanks to two goals from Erica Tanuis. Jenny Cappello added two assists and a goal for Western Connecticut that evening.

The offensive balance for the Colonials has been staggering this season, as six players have netted multiple goals thus far. Morgan O'Dell and Tatum Seaver have each tallied three times, while a quartet of Colonials has dented the back of the cage twice. Cappello and Heidi Odenwaelder lead the team with four assists apiece, and Caitlin Ogrizovich is second with 14 shots on goals, scoring twice. Kristy Trotta has allowed 1.73 goals per game this season, posting an .810 save percentage, playing in all but one half for head coach Danielle McDonnell.

Against Western Connecticut All-Time
The Brewers hold a 7-3 all-time mark against the Colonials, as the series dates back to 1988. The Brewers won the first six contests with WCSU, but the Colonials battled back to take the all three games from 2009-2011. Last season, Vassar got back into the win column with a 3-1 victory on Weinberg Field.

National Pub
The Brewers are currently third in Division III in goals against average, allowing teams to scoring just 0.50 goals per game. Junior goalkeeper Amreen Bhasin (Cresskill, NJ/Riverdale) is ranked fifth nationally in the same category.

Stop Right There
Sophomore Sophie Arnold (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) comes into the week tied for 26th in the country in defensive saves, making a pair thus far this season.

Zero Is The Number
The Brewers have shutout four teams this season thus far, posting clean sheets in 0.67 of its games. The percentage is second in the Liberty League and fourth in the NCAA.

Feels Like The First Time
The Brewers knocked off Brockport on Friday evening 1-0, getting a game-winning goal from one of the most unlikely of contributors. Sophomore Christina Yang (Singapore/United World College of SE Asia), normally a defender, got some run up top and netted her first ever goal for Vassar in the second half to lead VC to the win.

Win Streak
The five-game win streak to start the season for Vassar was its longest in program history, and the five-gamer was the longest since VC posted five wins in a row last year.

Home Sweet Home
The Brewers have won their last four home games on Weinberg, which is tied for the 13th longest active streak in Division III right now.

Liberty Low Scoring
The Brewers and the rest of the Liberty League currently have allowed the second-fewest goals of any conference in the nation, surrendering just 54 goals on the young season.
