A Look At The Brewers
Three players recorded hat-tricks in Vassar's season opener at Manhattanville College last Saturday. The Brewers won 14-7, making it the fourth year in a row that they defeated the Valiants. Senior

Noah Parson (Cary, NC/Panther Creek) and freshman
Liam Moriarty (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield) were the players who found twine three times.
Senior
Andrew Nicol (Carmel, NY/Brewster) made 10 saves off of 17 shots on goal and 25 in all. Freshman
Austin Haymes led Saturday's game against Manhattanville in the caused turnover category. The Valiants totaled five while Haymes forced four just himself. Vassar totaled 14 on the day. Haymes also recovered three of Vassar's 41 ground balls.
A Look At The Red Hawks
Brett Mangan scored five goals and added an assist when Montclair State upset the #6 team in the nation, Dickinson College, 14-11 on Saturday. It is the first time since 2004 that the Red Hawks have started a season with a 3-0 record. In 2004, the team won its first six contests.
Zach Schreck leads the Hawks with eight goals and two assists. Mangan is second with six goals and two helpers. Kiel Dietrich leads Montclair with eight caused turnovers while Ryan Young and Michael Dorn each have 10 ground balls. Dorn also has a save percentage of 62.3 percent, facing 96 shots and allowing 8.67 goals per game.
Against Montclair State University All-Time
Last year's meeting was the first time these two teams met. The Red Hawks left Weinberg Field with a 19-5 win under their belts. Parson and
Scott Brekne (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) scored two goals each.
Freshmen! Attack!
Three of Vassar's goal-scorers were freshmen. Moriarty,
Sam Houston-Read (Waban, MA/Newton South) and
Chris Billups (Watchung, NJ/Oratory Preparatory) all scored at least one netter.
Goalie Up!
This is the first time in seven years that the Brewers have had more than two goalies. Joining Nicol are sophomore
Ben Lehr (Englewood, CO/Kent Denver) and freshman
Brandon Crecco (Carmel, NY/Mahopac).
Scoring Streak
Including the last season, Parson is on a five-game scoring streak. He started his collegiate career with an eight-game spree before St. Lawrence shut down the Brewer offense on April 6, 11-3.
