What To Look For
The Vassar College women's basketball team will battle two teams that it has already knocked off this season, but neither were easy wins. Vassar was only up four with the Thoroughbreds during the second half, while Union led VC for 36 of the 40 minutes in the first meeting. The Brewers will have home court advantage this weekend, which will definitely play a big factor. Vassar is 9-1 on its home floor this season, including winning the last four outings in the AFC. With the Liberty League playoff position nearly locked up, the Brewers could clinch a spot in the postseason tournament with two wins this weekend.

A Look at the Thoroughbreds (9-12, 4-8 Liberty)
Skidmore College comes into the weekend trying desperately to get back into the Liberty League playoff hunt. The Thoroughbreds have won three of their last four conference games, but were dropped by St. Lawrence University Tuesday 63-58 to move to 4-8 within the League. Skidmore will have to go on the road in three of their last four games, with the lone game at Williamson Sports Center coming on the final day of the season. The T'breds have struggled to put the ball in the hoop this year, averaging the second-lowest scoring output of any Liberty League team at 58.2 points per game. SC also has shot a league-low 34 percent from the field, but does make 5.5 threes per game, which is third in the conference.

Jordyn Wartts is one of three players to start all 21 games for Skidmore, as she leads the team with 14 points per game, while grabbing 6.9 boards a night. Post player Angela Botiba averages a double-double of 12.8 points and 10.3 boards a night, and Molly McLaughlin has made a team-best 30 threes on the year. Lindsey Davis has started 19 games this year, pouring in 5.4 a night, and Migle Vilunaite corrals 5.2 rebounds a game. The T'breds are 4-5 on the road this season, including a 1-4 conference road mark.

Projected Starting Five: F - Angela Botiba (12.8 PPG), G- Jordan Wartts (14.0 PPG), G - Molly McLaughlin (8.9 PPG), G - Lindsey Davis (5.4 PPG), G - Ella Scheuerell (5.1 PPG).

Against Skidmore All-Time
The Brewers have fared well against Thoroughbreds over the last few years, winning four of the last six meetings, including the 58-50 win back on January 10 in Skidmore Springs, NY. Skidmore holds a 27-13 lead in the all-time series.

A Look at the Dutchwomen (13-7, 5-6 Liberty)
The Dutchwomen come to town this weekend battling for a Liberty League playoff spot, trailing RIT by a game and a half. Union is one of the hardest teams to play in the conference because of its size, and how well it rebounds defensively. The Dutch are currently second in the league in defensive rebounding, but offensively don't shoot the ball from the perimeter well. UC is second worst in three-point percentage, making just 25 percent from deep. Union averages only 3.4 made triples a game, but allow the league's highest three-point percentage against.

Union is tough to play against because of its balanced scoring, as the Dutch have five players pouring in over six points per game. Kate Thompson leads the team with 10.5 points a night, and Amy Loya averages 9.3 points and 5.2 boards per game. Cailin Schmeer is fifth in the Liberty League with 32 steals, and point guard Kelsey McDonald is among the conference leaders with 87 assists this season. The Dutchwomen do have an extended bench, having eight players to get into every game this season, with two more playing in all but one.

Projected Starting Lineup: G – Amy Loya (9.3 PPG), G – Cailin Schmeer (8.6 PPG), G – Kelsey McDonald (7.8 PPG), F – Kate Thompson (10.5 PPG), F – Brittney Kenney (6.3 PPG).

Against Union All-Time
The Brewers have an all-time record of 13-26 against Union College, having rallied to earn a win earlier this year in Schenectady, NY. The Brewers have won eight of the last night meetings with Union, after dropping the previous 18 against the Dutch.

Senior Sendoff
Seniors Jarae Farrell (Piscataway, NJ/Timothy Christian), Cydni Matsuoka (Sacramento, CA/John F. Kennedy) and Hannah Senftleber (Burlington, VT/Burlington) will all be honored prior to Saturday's game with Union College at 2 p.m. in the AFC.

Three's No Good
Junior Allyson Pemberton (Weston, MA/Weston) has been great for Vassar this year, but shooting three's hasn't been her game. Pemberton has taken five threes in her career, hitting the first one her freshman year against Marywood.

Oh Canada, Our Home and Native Land…
Sophomore Rose Serafini (Milton, Ontario, Canada/Milton Area) has been great the last five games for VC, averaging 10 boards a game over that stretch.

Get To 40
The Brewers are a good shooting team, and have done well when making at least 40 percent of their jumpers. This year, VC is 4-4 when shooting under that number, but 12-0 when making more than 40 percent from the field.

Block Party
The Brewers aren't overly big inside, but the athleticism has shown lately. After averaging less than three blocks per game in the previous seven games, VC has posted six per game over the last three.

Let's Run
Earlier in the year, the Brewers were playing most of their games in the sixties. Lately, the tempo has increased as Vassar has scored 80 or more in three of its last four contests.

D Up
The Brewers have forced its opposition into making less than 40 percent on field goals in eight straight, going 7-1 in that stretch. This year, when holding teams under that number, VC is 14-2.

To The Boards
Senior Hannah Senftleber became the program's all-time offensive rebounder last weekend, as she now sits with 285 offensive caroms. That number is one more than Emily Haeuser and her 284 from 2006 to 2010.

Up Next
Vassar will finish its home slate on Tuesday against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 6 p.m. in the AFC here in Poughkeepsie.
