What To Look For
The Brewers played just well enough to earn the one-point win on Wednesday evening, but it was because Vassar College played stout defense and was solid on the boards. VC turned the ball over 31 times in the game, which was the most giveaways in a win for the Brewers since January 14, 2008. VC will need to take care of the ball against a very athletics St. Joseph's team, which causes over 22 turnovers per night.

A Look at the Golden Eagles (1-2)
The Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College started the season with a pair of losses to Ramapo College and Brooklyn College, but got their first win Wednesday evening against Medgar Evans, 67-33, in their home opener. St. Joseph's has struggled from the floor this season, making just 28.1 percent of their shots, but have been a bit better from three-point land, connecting on 31 percent from deep. The Golden Eagles do a nice job of getting to the line, averaging 17.3 attempts a night, but 57.7 percent shooting from the stripe will need to improve if the team wants to add to their 49.3 points per game average.

The Eagles boast a squad with six freshman this season, but sophomore Jackie Zizzo paces the offensive attack with 12.7 points per game, hitting 45.5 percent from downtown. Rynese Smith has poured in 9.7 points a contest to supplement Zizzo's output, while Jennifer Gubell has come off the bench to add 8.3 points a night. Freshman forward Andrea Iavarone tops the team's rebound list with six per game, while Smith and Katie McGarrell each are grabbing over five caroms a night. The Golden Eagles hand out 10 assists per game, led by the 5.7 per game from Teddi Petre.

Projected Starters: F – Andrea Iavarone (6.7 PPG), F – Michelle Lupoli (2.7), G – Rynese Smith (9.7), G – Teddi Petre (1.3), G – Jackie Zizzo (12.7 PPG).

Against St. Joseph's of Long Island All-Time
The Brewers are a perfect 5-0 against the Golden Eagles all-time, last knocking off SJC last year on December 4, 2013 in Poughkeepsie, 88-41. Vassar College has defeated St. Joseph's by at least nine in all five previous meetings, with last year's 47-point margin the most in series history.

An Unstoppable Force
Remember the name Caitlin Drakeley (Woodbury, Ct/Nonnewaug). The junior dominated the court for the Brewers in the last two games, tossing in 26.5 points and grabbing 8.5 rebounds over that span.

No Shaq's
Unlike the giant's free throw record, the Brewers have excelled from the line. So far this season, Vassar has shot a cool 82.1 percent from the line, second-best in the Liberty League to the 84.2 percent from Rensselaer.

New Territory
The last four seasons have been luxuries for both William Smith and Vassar, as they each had All-Liberty League point guards. So far, breaking in new ball handlers has seen two of the top three teams from last year's turnover list now at the bottom in giveaways.

Two's Better Than Three
The Brewers have connected on just four three-pointers all season, the fewest in the conference so far, but have made the second-most total field goals in 2014-15.

20-20
Caitlin Drakeley posted 20 or more points in back-to-back games for the first time in her career over the last week. Drakeley is the first player for the Brewers, not named Cydni Matsuoka or Brittany Parks, to accomplish that feat since Emily Haeuser poured in 24 and 20 against Union and Skidmore back on February 12-13, 2010.

AP-solutely
Senior Allyson Pemberton (Weston, MA/Weston) has scored double-figures in her last three games, and five or her last six.

To The Glass
The Brewers have out-boarded their opponents in all three games this season, and have accomplished that feat in 24 of the last 31 games.

Up Next
The Brewers are back in action at home November 25, 2014 at 6 p.m. to take on the Wesleyan University.
