POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 6, 2013) – A four goal scoring spree in the second quarter helped lead the St. Lawrence University Saints men's lacrosse team past the Vassar College Brewers, 11-3 on Saturday afternoon at Gordon Field.

The Brewers drop to 3-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Liberty League. They begin a two-game road trip on Saturday, April 13 at noon against nationally fifth-ranked Liberty League opponent Rochester Institute of Technology. The Saints jump to 7-3 and 3-0 in the Liberty League. They will next host Clarkson University on Wednesday, April 10 at 4:00 pm.
The Brewer defense held the Saints to a scoreless game for the first eight minutes of play. Garrett Gagne scored first for St. Lawrence at 7:45. He was followed by Marcus Emerson and Mac Johnson before Vassar could get its first goal.
Junior goalie
Andrew Nicol recorded 16 saves in goal for the Brewers off the 49 shots that St. Lawrence fired. 47 of those shots were on goal.
Three Saints players scored two goals in the win. Gagne, Marcus Emerson and Jeremy Vautour all recorded two goals. Davey Hovey led the assists department with four for the Saints.
