ROCHESTER, NY (April 13, 2013) – The Vassar College men's lacrosse team fell, 25-3 to nationally ranked #5 and Liberty League opponent Rochester Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.
Jack Krzyston led the Tigers with a career-high, double hat-trick off his eight shots. Freshman attack
Noah Parson had two points for the Brewers with a goal and an assist. He also picked up four ground balls and caused one turnover. Vassar had a total of four caused turnovers but also 23 turnovers themselves. RIT had 10 caused turnovers while giving the ball up 14 teams.
Vassar falls to 3-8 on the season and 0-4 in League play. They will next travel to Madison, NJ on Saturday, April 20 for a 4:00 pm game against Drew University. RIT is still unbeaten in the Liberty League with a record of 3-0 (11-2 overall). They will next travel to Schenectady, NY on Wednesday, April 17 to face Union College in League play at 4:00 pm.
Eddie Kiesa and Colby Brainard were the other two Tigers to record hat-tricks during today's game.
Shane Flattery scored Vassar's first goal in the first quarter at 8:40, snapping a four-goal scoring spree by the Tigers. RIT responded with nine straight goals before sophomore midfielder
Sean Brazier scored at 2:05 in the second quarter off an assist by Parson.
Parson's lone goal came in the third quarter with 2:17 remaining off an assist by junior attack
Max Herman.
RIT was 3-for-4 on man-up opportunities with two of those goals being made in the third quarter. RIT outshot Vassar, 63-22. They managed 26 shots in the second quarter while Vassar's offense found it's way to the goal for only three shots.

Andrew Nicol allowed 14 goals while facing 38 first half shots and recording 10 saves for the loss. Freshman
Ben Lehr came in for relief in the second half for seven saves. Pat Johnston picked up the win for RIT with two saves and one goal allowed. Anthony DeLeo came in during the end of the second quarter for eight saves and allowed two goals.
