Vassar Men's Notes (11-6, 4-3): The Brewers are ranked No. 12 in the national AVCA February 26 poll. Vassar lost a hard fought five-set match to No. 1 Springfield on Saturday. After winning the first two sets 29-17, 25-23, the Brewers lost the last three sets 25-19, 25-18, 15-5. The Brewers defeated Elms 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-23) later in the day, Saturday.  

Stats: Senior Matt Elgin leads the Brewers in kills with 161, hitting .454 on the season. Elgin earned a season high 18 kills against Elms. Freshman Reno Kriz follows in kills on the season with 157. Senior setter John Konow has 543 set assists, 77 of which he recorded last Saturday in two matches. Senior libero Christian La Du has recorded 140 digs this season.

Next Up: The Brewers will return to New Paltz this Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, for the UVC Crossover II. There they will face Medaille College, Elmira College, and D'Youville College.

New Paltz Notes (14-4, 5-2): New Paltz is on a four-match winning streak, the last three of which they have won 3-0. Freshman outside hitter Tim Ferriter was named the United Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Week last week, his second such honor this season. Ferriter leads his team in kills on the season with 215, and kills per set with 3.47.

Next Up: New Paltz stays at home next weekend to compete in the UVC Crossover, where they will play Nazareth, Penn State Behrend, and Hilbert College March 9-10. 

Coaches: Vassar is coached by Robert Wolter, who is in his second season.

New Paltz is coached by Radu Petrus in his seventh season.
