POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The College Sport Communicators (CSC) announced the honorees for Academic All-District in the At-Large category on Tuesday afternoon as 12 Vassar College student-athletes from field hockey, men's fencing, women's fencing, women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, women's golf and men's volleyball were honored for their success both on the field and in the classroom.
Senior
Sofia Beseth finished a breakout senior campaign where she was named a NFHCA Third Team All-American, an All-Region III First Team honoree and an All-Liberty League First Team selection for the first time in her career. Beseth produced seven goals, a career-high four assists and 18 points in her senior season to earn all of these illustrious honors. Following her senior campaign, she was honored as a NFHCA Senior Team selection as one of just 60 Division III student-athletes to earn the honor. Beseth's game-winning goal over Kean this season gave her six for her career and ties her for fourth all-time in Vassar program history. Beseth also finishes sixth all-time in goals with 23 while being tied for 10th in Vassar program history in points with 53 and ranks in the top-10 in points per game at 0.78.
Senior
Tess Billings, who was named Second Team All-Liberty League, earned an All-League nod for the third straight season. Billings led Vassar in scoring as a senior, potting a career-high 45 goals, including three game winners, and registering a team-high 52 points. Billings rounded out a stellar senior campaign with 31 draw controls, good for third on the team, 23 groundballs which ranked in a tie for second on the squad and 13 caused turnovers. Billings scored her 100
th career goal on April 4 against Ithaca and closes out her career with 115 tallies and 140 points to go along with 192 draw controls, 53 groundballs and 35 caused turnovers. Billings ranks inside the top-10 all-time at Vassar in both goals and points.
Sophomore
Megan Sweeney, who earned Liberty League All-Academic Team honors this season, started all 15 games for the Brewers as she finished with 18 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers, which both rank in the top-10 on the squad. Sweeney picked up a career-high four groundballs twice this season and also caused a career-high two turnovers in two contests in 2026.
Sophomore
Vivian Wei garnered United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Division III All-Region accolades in sabre for the first time in her career following a 21st place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regionals. After earning a bye into the quarterfinal round, Wei scored four victories to advance into the semifinal round. In the semifinals, Wei picked up a victory to score a top-21 finish and finished the season with a 17-6 overall record heading into the regional event.
Senior
Katrina Wu, who has earned Liberty League All-Academic Team honors for three straight seasons, finished the 2026 Liberty League Championship with a 25th place finish to help the Brewers to a sixth place team finish. Wu fired an 89 at the St. Lawrence Invitational this season to help Vassar finish fifth overall and also added a 92 at the Hamilton Fall Invitational.
Junior
Olivia Pocat, a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Team honoree, finished tied for 21st overall at the Liberty League Championship and shot an 88 in the opening round as the Brewers finished sixth overall. She also finished tied for 20th overall at the Cortland Martin/Wallace Invitational to lead the Brewers to a sixth place team finish.
Junior
Armaan Desai, who earned AVCA First Team All-American, All-UVC First Team and AVCA All-Region II honors this season, put together a strong junior campaign as Desai recorded new career-highs in kills (181), kills per set (2.32), solo blocks (29), total blocks (94), blocks per set (1.21), points (256.5) and points per set (3.29). Desai buried a new career-high in kills with 20 against NYU and also notched six matches with double-digit kills. He also recorded 10 matches with five or more total blocks, including a career-high 10 total blocks against Kean. Desai's 29 solo blocks match the single-season program record of Matthew Knigge '18 and he finishes the regular season third in the country at 1.21 blocks per set. Desai ranks sixth all-time in Vassar history in solo blocks with 55 for his career and holds two of the top-five single season marks in solo blocks.
Senior
Casey McMenamin, a three-time UVC All-Academic Team honoree, earns his first CSC Academic All-District honors after posting career-highs for the Brewers at libero. McMenamin played in a career-high 24 matches in 2026 and lifted a career-high 197 digs. McMenamin also set new career-highs in single match digs with 18 twice and lifted double-digit digs in six matches this season.
Sophomore
Alexander North registered USFCA All-Region Honorable Mention honors and was the second fencer in the Division III honors after claiming a ninth place finish in epee for the highest finish in a regional since 2012. North finished the season with a 42-21 overall record and took home gold at the Big One in epee to open the season. The ninth place finish at Regionals and the gold medal at the Big One were both career-bests for North at the individual events.
Senior
Oliver Berger, a three-time USFCA Academic honoree, had another strong season at sabre for the Brewers as he finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 45-18 overall mark. Berger advanced to the quarterfinal round at the NCAA Northeast Regionals as he recorded a 27th place finish following five victories at the meet. Berger finishes his career with over 200 victories in three years of competition for the Brewers.
Senior
Hayden Stoltzfoos, a three-time Liberty League All-Academic team selection, appeared in 15 games for Vassar and helped anchor the Brewers defense as he caused a career-high six turnovers. Stoltzfoos added 13 groundballs this season and finishes his career with 42 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers.
Sophomore
John Malone tallies his first Liberty League All-Academic team and All-District honor after recording 13 goals and one assist for 14 points in his second season at Vassar. Malone also recorded 17 groundballs and three caused turnovers along with netting a career-high three goals against RPI on April 1. He also scooped up a season-high three groundballs three times in 2026.
