POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 27, 2013) – The Vassar College men's volleyball team maintained its #10 national ranking in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III poll. This is the third straight week that the Brewers have been ranked 10th.
The Brewers, who are 17-8 on the season and winners of six of their last seven matches, welcome a strong field to the Athletics and Fitness Center this Friday and Saturday for the Vassar Invitational. Top-ranked Nazareth (28-0), sixth-ranked New Paltz (20-5), Lancaster Bible (12-11), Johnson & Wales (9-13) and NYU-Poly (6-16) will compete this weekend; Vassar will face all teams except Johnson & Wales. Matches against United Volleyball Conference rivals Nazareth and New Paltz will be considered non-conference affairs and will not count in the league standings.

Joe Pyne also averages over two and a half kills per set to go along with a team-high 15 service aces. Senior setter

Christian La Du leads Vassar defensively with 186 assists.
The road warrior Brewers have played just three of their 25 matches thus far at home and are now primed for a five-match homestand. Friday's action will see Vassar face NYU-Poly at 4:00 pm and Nazareth at 8:00 pm with matchups against Lancaster Bible at 11:00 am and New Paltz at 3:00 pm on tap for Saturday.

The Brewers, who recently clinched the #5 seed in the upcoming UVC Championships, will close out their home schedule with a Senior Night matchup against Sage at 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 3 in Kenyon Hall.
