POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 12, 2013) – Following a 2-1 record at the first UVC Crossover Match with victories over Penn State-Behrend and Hilbert College, the No. 14 nationally ranked Vassar College men's volleyball team returns home to Kenyon Hall to face the Hunter College Hawks on Friday, February 15 at Kenyon Hall at 7:00 p.m.

Vassar Men's Notes (3-3, 2-2): The Brewers are ranked No. 14 in the national AVCA February 12 poll. Vassar earned a 3-1 win over Hilbert College last weekend at the UVC Crossover. Despite a Hilbert rally in the third set, the Brewers' strong offensive play carried the day, finishing 25-19, 25-21, 13-25 and 25-9. On the first day of play at the UVC Crossover, the Brewers also posted a strong 3-0 victory over Penn State-Behrend (25-17, 25-20, 25-21), but lost to No. 2 ranked Nazareth in 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 27-25), with a closely contested final set.

Reno Kriz leads the Brewers in kills with 60, hitting .296. Kriz earned 11 kills in his last match against Stevens. Senior
Matt Elgin follows Kriz with 50 kills, hitting .367. Elgin also leads the team in blocks with 21. Senior setter

Christian La Du added 16 digs to this weekend to break the Vassar all-time record for career digs, with a grand total 1,007. La Du has recorded 45 digs this season.

Hunter Notes (1-3): The Hawks won their first match of the season 3-0 over John Jay on Wednesday (25-9, 25-8, 25-9). Prior to that match, the Hawks lost to Cairn University February 5 in 5 sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 20-25, 13-15). Hunter's February 9 matches against Medgar Evers and CCNY at the Lehman Multi-Match were postponed due to inclement weather.
Braien Otsla leads the team in kills with 40, with Matthew Ng close behind with 38 kills. Eric Lodde leads the team in digs with 27. Stanley Martinez has earned 103 set assists.
Next Up: The Hawks will travel to Hoboken, NJ to face No. 5 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology and No. 12 ranked Stevenson University on Saturday February 16 at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
