Herman Dominant In Men's Lacrosse 8-4 Win Over Richard Stockton

POMONA, NJ (March 12, 2011) - Freshman Max Herman carried the Vassar College men's lacrosse to its first win of the season with five goals in an 8-4 triumph of Richard Stockton on Saturday.

The Brewers (1-2) face Utica on the road on Saturday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. The Osprey (0-3) host University of New England on Wednesday, March 16, at 1:00 p.m.

Richard Stockton took a 2-0 lead in the first period but the Brewers responded with four unanswered goals with three from Herman and one from sophomore Ryan McCarthy

The Osprey scored one goal in the second period to draw within one at 4-3 at the break. In the second half, the Brewers surged once more for four unanswered goals to seal the win. Herman scored two during the stretch with Mcarthy and senior Garret Rich tacking on one apiece. 

For Vassar, freshman Andrew Nicol made 18 saves for the win. Junior Jeff Lee posted two assists. Rich and McCarthy each added an assist.
