The Saints also had a big sixth inning; ignited by Kirt Broedel's (Waterville, NY/Waterville) leadoff triple to center field, St. Lawrence plated six runs.
Vassar picked up all its runs in the fifth inning, scoring three on three hits.
Adam Murphy (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) had a single,

The Saints had 20 hits on the day, led by Joel Kocan (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool). The senior catcher went 5-for-6, including two doubles, with five RBI and three runs scored. Tim Harris (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus), Andrew Ford (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey), Ryan Duff (Concord, MA/Cushing Academy), Charlie Cannan (Buffalo, NY/Nichols School), and Joe Shehata (Orangeburg, NY/Pearl River) all had two hits apiece with Ford and Duff knocking out doubles, and Broedel and Shehata both hitting triples.

Dan Orme (0-6) (Cambridge, MA/Cambridge Rindge & Latin) took the loss for the Brewers.
Game Two
A strong performance from Bellstrom (3-2) in the nightcap made for a much different game. Bellstrom pitched the complete game, scattering nine hits to allow three earned runs. He struck out six and walked one.
After both teams went scoreless in the first two innings, St. Lawrence got on board first in the third, scoring two runs on three hits. Shehata, Harris, and Cannan singled, with Ford and Duff each picking up an RBI.
The Brewers responded in the bottom of the inning with four two-out runs.
Joe Castilla (Weston, FL/Archbishop McCarthy) started things off with a base hit to center field. A Glantz single up the middle advanced Castilla to third and
Mike Murn (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) brought both runners home with a single to left.
Mike Plude (Shelton, CT/Notre Dame Catholic) reached on an error, and another error scored Murn and Plude with what would prove to be the winning run.
The Saints threatened with a run in the top of the sixth, but the Brewers countered with two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. Bellstrom took the Saints down in order in the seventh and eighth innings and, with runners on the corners in the ninth and two outs, picked up his third win of the season in style, sending the final batter to the bench swinging.
Castilla led the Brewers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run scored. Murn had two hits and two RBI while Glantz and
Charlie Gray (Upper Montclair, NJ/Montclair Kimberley) each recorded two hits and one RBI.
