BALTIMORE,MD (March, 19,2008) - The Vassar men's lacrosse team fell short to Utica College Tuesday afternoon 11-6 in a physical, hard-hitting affair. The loss drops the Brewers to 1-4 on the season.

Vassar found itself in a quick 3-0 hole, but sophomore attackman Sean Murray (Wyckoff, NJ/Deerfield Academy) answered with two goals of his own. A back and forth battle ensued for the rest of the half, as goals scored by midfielders freshman Sam Seymour (Winchester, MA/Winchester), sophomore Cody Scandore (North Andover, MA/North Andover), and sophomore Nick Cardillo (Honeoye Falls, NY/Regis Jesuit) tied up the halftime score at 5.

The third quarter saw Utica retake the momentum and the lead, outscoring Vassar 2-0 in the period.

The fourth quarter was an up and down affair. Utica added four goals, enough to put the game out of reach. Vassar's lone goal in the period was the second of the game for Seymour.
