Worcester, MA – The Vassar College Men's Varsity 8 boat was in action for the first time this spring on Saturday, competing on Lake Quinsigamond in the Class of 2003 Cup hosted by WPI.
 
The Brewers finished the race in fifth-place competing against four nationally ranked crews. The Brewers' entry of Robert Gee (Hopewell Junction, NY), Jasper Piermarini (North Brookfield, MA), Hogan Flechtner (Sudbury, MA), Trygve Aarestad (Roslindale, MA), Alexander Gough-Schnapp (Cambridge, MA), Patrick Cincotti (Brighton, MA), Henry France (Brooklyn, NY) and Patrick Horiszny (Red Hook, NY) along with coxswain Miriam Barker (Idlewylde, MD) completed the course in a time of 6:17.17.
 
#2 Wesleyan won the race in a time of 5:48.67 and was followed by #7 Colby (5:56.67), #8 WPI (6:04.27) and #11 Hamilton (6:07.87).
 
Vassar returns to the water on April 11 when it makes the trip to Union.
