Saratoga Springs, NY – The Vassar College Men's Varsity 8 put together another strong showing at the New York State Championships on Saturday. The Brewers raced to a runner-up finish in the Grand Final, racing past crews from Army, Skidmore and Union.
After winning the state title a season ago, the Brewers raced into the Grand Final with a second-place finish in its heat to open the day on Saturday. In the final, the crew of

Patrick Horiszny (Red Hook, NY) along with coxswain Miriam Barker (Idlewylde, MD) finished the course on Fish Creek in a time of 7:12.5, finishing only behind Hamilton.
Following Saturday's strong effort, Vassar returns to action on April 25 when it takes part in the Northeast Collegiate Club Championships in Fall River, MA.
