Women's Track and Field Sets New 4x200 Relay Time at Blue and Orange Invite

Relay sets new school record, several set new career-best times

Utica, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team saw its 4x200 relay squad set a new school record mark along with several student-athletes recording new career-best times.

4x200 Relay

The quartet of sophomore Lainie D'Auria, sophomore Lianna Camille, first year Claire Seguin and first year Maddie Seguin set a new school record time in 1:48.02 to finish fourth overall.

60 Meter Hurdles

Senior Jahmilia Dennis qualified for the finals with a time of 9.26 to finish seventh overall. Dennis raced to a fifth place finish with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 9.06.
Senior Catherine Peacock scored a 25th place finish in 10.16 followed by classmate Freja Niklasson in the top-30 with a time of 10.27.
Sophomore Elana Pukel finished in the top-35 with a mark of 10.50.

Mile

Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe tallied a fourth place finish with a career-best time of 5:17.04

400 Meters (Open)

Senior Maddie Busam earned a fourth place finish with a time of 1:06.67.

60 Meters

First year Ruthie Weiss recorded a 11th place finish in 8.19 while Dennis finished 22nd with a collegiate-best time of 8.32.
M. Seguin placed in the top-30 with a time of 8.40 along with senior Jamie Eu tallying a top-30 mark in 8.42.
First year Chloe Mundheim registered a top-45 finish with a time of 8.85.

800 Meters

First year Malaika Dechet-Wetzel garnered a 12th place finish in 2:28.09 followed by classmate Perri Koo in 14th place with a time of 2:29.26.
Pukel turned in a time of 2:59.15 for a top-45 finish.

200 Meters (Open)

M. Seguin registered a third place finish with a season-best time of 27.51.
Peacock recorded a 17th place finish in 29.18 along with Mundheim in 19th position with a personal-best time of 29.31.
Niklasson finished in the top-25 with a mark of 29.51 while Busam finished in the top-30 in 29.90.

200 Meters (Invite)

Camille scored a 17th place finish with a time of 27.04 followed by D'Auria in 19th position in 27.25.

3000 Meters (Invite)

Sophomore Chloe Bibula posted a career-best time of 10:28.15 for a 10th place finish followed by sophomore Sarah France in 13th in 10:48.59.
Sophomore Hadley Snell earned a 15th place finish with a personal-best time of 10:49.73 along with first year Cate Feudtner registering a career-best mark of 10:58.53 for a 19th place finish.
First year Taylor Vogt crossed the finish line with a time of 11:46.36.

4x400 Relay

The quartet of Koo, Lowe, Dechet-Wetzel and Camille raced to a sixth place finish with a time of 4:14.52.

Triple Jump

Weiss scored a sixth place finish with a top leap of 10.95 meters.

Long Jump

Weiss finished 10th overall with a top mark of 5.18 meters while Eu scored a 20th place finish at 4.89 meters.
D'Auria tallied a top-25 finish with a leap of 4.84 meters.

Weight Throw

Sophomore Amanda Hanrahan posted a 12th place finish with a top distance of 13.99 meters while sophomore Meara Morgan finished in the top-35 with a toss of 11.94 meters.
Senior Kolby Davis finished in the top-40 with a throw of 11.78 meters along with first year Anna Johnson registering a mark of 9.70 meters.

Pole Vault (Open)

First year Sole Miller recorded a ninth place finish with a top height of 2.61 meters.

High Jump (Open)

Pukel placed 12th overall with a top height of 1.33 meters.

Shot Put

Hanrahan closed the day with a top mark of 10.28 meters for a 20th place finish while Davis was in the top-30 with a toss of 9.80 meters.
Morgan recorded a top toss of 8.69 meters.

Up Next

Vassar will head to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University and the NYU DIII Invite on Saturday, February 14.
