Women's Track and Field Excels at NYU Invite, Schoenegge Records Sixth-Fastest Mile Time in Division III History

Boston, MA & New York, NY - Junior Haley Schoenegge broke her own school record time in the Mile and posted the sixth-fastest DIII time ever at the Valentine Invitational while the Vassar College Women's Track and Field team saw numerous new personal-bests registered at the NYU Invite at the Armory.

Valentine Invitational
  • 800 Meters
    • Sophomore Elizabeth Lowe finished sixth in her heat and was the top Division III finisher in the heat with a time of 2:18.83.
  • Mile (Open)
    • Senior Anika Mueller-Hickler finished fifth in her heat against heavy Division I competition and was the top DIII finisher with a new career-best time of 5:11.04.
    • First year Malaika Dechet-Wetzel placed third overall in her heat and was the second highest DIII finisher with a new PR of 5:08.82.
  • Mile (Invite)
    • Schoenegge shattered her school record and personal-best mark with a time of 4:43.41, which is the sixth-fastest in Division III all-time and finished in the top-50 in a loaded field.
NYU Invite
  • 60 Meter Hurdles
    • Senior Jahmilia Dennis won her heat and finished eighth overall in the prelims in 9.22 to qualify for the finals. Dennis improved to fourth overall in the finals with a mark of 9.29.
    • Senior Freja Niklasson posted a season-best time of 10.04 to finish 20th while sophomore Elana Pukel was in the top-25 with a time of 10.24.
  • 60 Meters
    • Sophomore Lainie D'Auria advanced to the finals with an eighth place finish in the prelims with a time of 8.15. D'Auria recorded a new personal-best time of 7.98 in the finals to place fourth overall.
    • First year Ruthie Weiss placed 14th overall with a mark of 8.32 while senior Jamie Eu and first year Maddie Seguin tied for 17th in 8.44.
    • First year Chloe Mundheim earned a personal-best time of 8.68 to finish in the top-30 followed by sophomore Mason Wilkins-Lanier in the top-30 in 8.78.
  • Mile
    • Sophomore Chloe Bibula registered a new career-best time of 5:17.48 to earn fifth place finish followed by classmate Hadley Snell in ninth place in 5:31.88.
    • First year Cate Feudtner posted a new personal-best time of 5:33.65 fo finish 11th overall along with first year Emerson Wyatt scoring a 17th place finish in a personal-best time of 5:43.70.
    • First year Taylor Vogt tallied a 21st place finish in 5:49.49 while senior Lily Shimpach crossed the finish line in a career-best time of 6:08.11.
  • 400 Meters
    • Sophomore Lianna Camille scored a 10th place finish with a season-best time of 1:00.97 followed by sophomore Skylar Spiro in 12th position in 1:02.90.
    • Senior Maddie Busam finished in the top-20 with a season-best mark of 1:05.65.
  • 800 Meters
    • First year Perri Koo earned a 17th place finish with a time of 2:29.52 followed by sophomore Hadley Snell setting a new PR of 2:29.94.
    • Bibula finished in the top-20 in 2:30.04 while Feudtner recorded a season-best mark of 2:33.33 for 22nd overall.
    • First year Taylor Vogt tallied a top-30 finish with a time of 2:36.18.
  • 200 Meters
    • Camille turned in another season-best time of 26.62 to finish 10th overall while D'Auria raced to a top-20 finish in 26.93.
    • M. Seguin earned a top-20 finish with new PR time of 27.00 along with Wilkins-Lanier posting a season-best time of 28.06 to finish in the top-30.
    • First year Claire Seguin registered a top-35 finish in 28.47 and Busam finished in the top-40 in a season-best time of 29.25.
    • First year Chloe Mundheim closed the Vassar finishers with a time of 29.40 to earn a top-40 finish.
  • 3000 Meters
  • 4x400 Relay
    • The quartet of M. Seguin, Camille, Koo and Busam earned a seventh place finish with a season-best time of 4:14.33.
  • Pole Vault
    • First year Sole Miller placed 13th overall with a top height of 2.50 meters.
  • High Jump
    • Weiss scored a 12th place finish with a height of 1.45 meters.
  • Triple Jump
    • Dennis finished the day with a fifth place finish with a leap of 11.22 meters.
    • Eu set a season-best mark of 10.22 meters for a ninth place finish.
  • Long Jump
    • Weiss advanced to the finals and finished ninth overall with a top jump of 4.88 meters.
    • D'Auria tallied a 15th place finish at 4.55 meters followed by Eu in 17th position with a top mark of 4.55 meters.
    • Pukel earned a top-25 finish with a leap of 4.27 meters.
  • Shot Put
    • Sophomore Amanda Hanrahan toppled her own school record by over one meter to finish seventh overall at 11.68 meters.
    • Senior Kolby Davis recorded a season-best toss of 10.51 meters to finish in the top-20 while sophomore Meara Morgan set a new PR with a mark of 9.70 meters to score a top-20 finish.
  • Weight Throw
    • Hanrahan tallied a fourth place finish with a toss of 15.38 meters followed by Morgan in 11th position with a mark of 12.25 meters.
    • Davis finished in 12th place with a mark of 12.19 meters along with first year Anna Johnson posting a top throw of 9.97 meters.
