Women's Track and Field Posts Numerous Personal Bests at Bomber Invitational

Hanrahan resets her own weight throw school record for the second straight week

Ithaca, NY - Sophomore Amanda Hanrahan reset her own school record in the weight throw at 15.47 meters as the Vassar College Women's Track and Field team put together a strong showing at the Bomber Invitational on Saturday.

Shot Put
  • Hanrahan scored a 22nd place finish with a toss of 10.23 meters while senior Kolby Davis was 25th overall with a mark of 10.05 meters.
  • Sophomore Meara Morgan finished in the top-40 with a top throw of 8.91 meters.
60 Meter Hurdles
  • Sophomore Elana Pukel finished 12th overall with a time of 10.04 while junior Abigail Sasson crossed the finish line in 11.43.
Weight Throw
  • Hanrahan earned a second place finish as she reset her own school record for the second straight week with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 15.47 meters.
  • Morgan posted a career-best mark of 12.23 meters for a 23rd place finish.
Long Jump
  • First year Ruthie Weiss scored a seventh place finish with a top leap of 5.21 meters.
  • Sophomore Lainie D'Auria earned a top-15 finish with a mark of 4.95 meters along with senior Jamie Eu tallying a 16th place finish at 4.93 meters.
  • Pukel registered a 20th place finish with a leap of 4.77 meters while Wilkins-Lanier registered a mark of 4.24 meters.
60 Meters
  • D'Auria won her prelims heat with a time of 8.06 to advance to the finals and then finished sixth overall in the finals with a personal-best time of 8.00.
  • First year Maddie Seguin placed 24th overall with a mark of 8.51 followed by sophomore Mason Wilkins-Lanier finishing 32nd in 8.66.
High Jump
  • First year Maddie Delaney was the long competitor in the high jump for the Brewers.
Mile
  • First year Malaika Dechet-Wetzel earned a sixth place finish with an AARTFC qualifying time of 5:16.87.
  • First year Cate Feudtner posted a 23rd place mark with a time of 5:37.48 followed by first year Taylor Vogt in the top-35 in 5:43.82.
  • Senior Lily Shimpach crossed the finish line with a time of 6:12.43.
800 Meters
  • First year Perri Koo finished 11th overall with a time of 2:30.40 followed by Vogt in 19th position in 2:35.15.
  • Feudtner scored a top-30 finish with a time of 2:38.40 along with first year Emerson Wyatt adding a 34th place finish with a time of 2:42.87.
  • Shimpach closed the Vassar finishers with a time of 2:55.26.
200 Meters
  • D'Auria raced to a third place finish with a time of 27.00 while Seguin posted a 19th place finish with a time of 28.01.
  • Wilkins-Lanier registered a top-30 mark in 28.78 followed by senior Maddie Busam in the top-50 with a mark of 29.92.
4x400 Relay
  • The quartet of Pukel, Koo, Busam and Dechet-Wetzel finished in 13th position with a time of 4:27.94.

  • Vassar will head to Utica for the Blue and Orange Invite beginning on Friday evening.
