Vassar Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad; Eight Brewers Earn Academic Honor Roll Honors

IWLCA honors nearly 200 institutions, 1,200 student-athletes

Northborough, MA – The Vassar College Women's Lacrosse team earned both team and individual honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association it was announced Wednesday afternoon. As a unit, Vassar was named an Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA and in addition eight student-athletes were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
 
The IWLCA recognized nearly 400 intuitions across all divisions and NAIA as Honor Squads and the Brewers' eight members of the Academic Honor Roll are part of 1,284 Division III student-athletes honored for academic achievement. To be an academic honor squad, a team must hold a grade point average of 3.2, while individuals are named to the Honor Roll after maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
 
Tess Billings (Deerfield, IL), a Biochemistry major at Vassar, finished the 2025 season with a Second Team All-Liberty League citation. Billings led the Brewers with 31 goals in 2025 and closed the campaign second on the team with 39 points. Billings finished off a strong all-around season for the Brewers with 19 draw controls, eight caused turnovers and seven groundballs.
 
Phoebe Florance (Oakland, CA), also a Biochemistry major, appeared in 15 games and made 12 starts for the Brewers in 2025. Florance registered four points on the strength of a goal and three helpers and closed the season with two draw controls and four groundballs.
 
Karina Gyllenhaal (Beverley, MA), a Political Science major for the Brewers, appeared in seven games for Vassar as a junior and closed the year with six goals and eight points, Gyllenhaal also contributed a draw and four groundballs for the Brewers.
 
Elizabeth Kendrick (Big Sky, MT), a Mathematics major, appeared in seven games and made a pair of starts as a senior in 2025. Kendrick tallied three goals and helped on five others to finish with eight points. Kendrick forced a pair of turnovers and collected four groundballs for the Brewers.
 
Julia Lawless (Valley Stream, NY), an Economics/Math major at Vassar, appeared in all 16 games for Vassar in 2025 and started 15 contests on the backline. Lawless totaled two points on the offensive end in 2025 and helped to anchor the backline with five forced miscues and 15 groundballs.
 
Bree MacMullen (Medford, NJ), a Mathematics major, had a strong season as Vassar's primary goalie in 2025. MacMullen started 15 games between the pipes and finished the season with 103 saves, making at least 10 stops in a game four times. MacMullen led the Brewers with 30 groundballs and was fourth on the team with nine caused turnovers.
 
Reilly Mulcahy (Arlington, VA), a Psychology major, paced the Vassar offensive attack with team-highs in assists with 23 and points with 48. Mulcahy, an Academic All-District selection, tallied 25 goals for the Brewers and closed out a strong season with 18 draw controls, 14 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers.
 
Kali Ringler (North Andover, MA), a Biochemistry major, was also an Academic All-District selection for the Brewers in 2025. Ringler appeared in all 16 games for Vassar, starting 14, and finished the season with seven points on the strength of six markers and an assist. Ringler rounded out the year with 21 groundballs, good for fourth on the team, and eight caused turnovers.
 
Vassar completed the 2025 season with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-5 mark against Liberty League opponents.
