Schoenegge Defends 1500 and 5000 Meters Titles to Earn Most Outstanding Track Performer; Dennis Scores Sixth Total Triple Jump Crown at Liberty League Championships

Vassar finishes fourth overall at the league championships

Rochester, NY - Sophomore Haley Schoenegge earned her second straight conference titles in the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters to earn her second straight Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet honor along with junior Jahmilia Dennis recording her third consecutive conference triple jump title and sixth overall crown at the Liberty League Outdoor Championships at RIT on Saturday. Vassar scored a fourth place team finish out of eight conference foes with 101 points.

Heptathlon 
  • Senior Faye Stevens earned a second place finish with a new personal-best score of 3950 points, finishing just seven points behind the first place finisher.
    • Long Jump - The senior finished fourth overall with a top jump of 4.66 meters.
    • Javelin Throw - Stevens scored a third place finish with a toss of 24.61 meters.
    • 800 Meters - Stevens closed an impressive heptathlon with a time of 2:29.82 for a third place finish.
  • First year Elana Pukel scored a podium finish with an eighth place mark with 3199 points.
    • Long Jump - Pukel turned in an eighth place finish with a leap of 4.40 meters.
    • Javelin Throw - The first year tallied a fourth place mark with a top throw of 24.04 meters.
    • 800 Meters - Pukel closed the heptathlon with a 10th place finish with a personal-best time of 2:53.86.
4x100 Relay 1500 Meters
  • Schoenegge defended her conference title with a first place finish in a facility record time of 4:29.09 and defeated the next closest finisher by over four seconds.
  • Sophomore Adelaide Nyhan scored a podium finish in third place with a time of 4:41.07 followed by classmate Norah Reade in fourth place in 4:42.92 to earn a medal.
  • First year Sarah France tallied a top-15 finish with a time of 4:53.42.
Shot Put
  • First year Amanda Hanrahan secured a 15th place finish with a top toss of 10.22 meters.
  • Junior Kolby Davis finished in the top-20 with a mark of 9.87 meters.
Triple Jump
  • Dennis defended her triple jump crown with her third straight outdoor title and sixth career title with a facility record leap of 11.44 meters.
  • Camille scored a ninth place finish with a top leap of 10.23 meters along with Eu finishing 11th overall at 9.92 meters.
100 Meter Hurdles
  • Dennis picked up another podium finish as she crossed the finish line in fourth place in 14.80.
400 Meters
  • Camille earned a podium finish with a seventh place mark with a time of 1:01.60.
800 Meters
  • First year Lizzie Lowe earned a strong second place finish in the finals with a new personal-best time of 2:16.76.
  • Nyhan scored another podium finish with a fifth place finish with a new PR of 2:16.92.
400 Meter Hurdles
  • Junior Freja Niklasson tallied a podium finish with an eighth place finish in the finals in 1:11.04.
5000 Meters
  • Schoenegge dominated the race to defend her conference crown as the sophomore broke the facility record and her own meet record with a time of 16:44.66. She defeated the next closest finisher by almost 17 seconds.
  • Nyhan completed a big day with a third place finish with a time of 17:39.45 for a medal and senior Noni Pattington made her way to the podium with a seventh place finish in a career-best 17:48.68.
  • Sophomore Acadia Helfand tallied a 12th place finish with a personal-best mark of 18:27.18 along with first year Hadley Snell finishing in the top-20 in a personal-best 18:34.65.
  • First year Chloe Bibula was 22nd overall with a career-best time of 18:51.74 followed by classmate Sophia Marchioli in 23rd in 19:04.54 and sophomore Cayley Swaim in 24th in 19:05.49.
High Jump
  • Junior Abbe Colgan and Niklasson each competed in the high jump for the Brewers.
Discus Throw
  • Junior Sydney Petrie registered a podium finish with a sixth place finish with a top mark of 37.83 meters.
  • Senior Soliel Yuong finished 14th overall with a mark of 32.09 meters along with first year Meara Morgan in the top-20 at 29.77 meters.
  • Colgan tallied a top-25 finish with a toss of 28.22 meters followed by Hanrahan at 25.13 meters and junior Ava Gurley at 24.54 meters.
4x400 Relay
  • The quartet of Camille, Lowe, first year Skylar Spiro and Stevens finished seventh overall with a season-best time of 4:08.80.
