Geneva, OH - Sophomore Haley Schoenegge posted the top time in the prelims of the 1500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to cruise to Saturday's finals at the SPIRE Institute.

Schoenegge finished first in the opening heat with a time of 4:25.79 and cruised to the top finishing position out of the 12 qualifiers for the finals on Saturday. Schoenegge will compete in the finals in both the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters on Saturday afternoon.

Schoenegge will run at 1:35 p.m. in the 1500 meters followed by the 5000 meters race at 4:25 p.m. and junior Jahmilia Dennis will also compete in the triple jump at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
