Poughkeepsie, NY - The United Volleyball Conference (UVC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon as Vassar College Men's Volleyball sophomore middle blocker
Armaan Desai earned his first career UVC Co-Player of the Week honor.
Vassar closed the regular season with a 2-1 week as the Brewers collected sweeps over #2 Springfield and Russell Sage while falling in five sets to #1 NYU. Desai posted 18 kills (.586) and 11 total blocks (three solo) in the two matches against the Violets and the Pride. The sophomore tallied a career-high seven total blocks and 12 kills (.706) in the five-set setback against NYU before finishing with six kills (.417) and four blocks in the upset of Springfield.
Desai currently ranks tied for fourth on the team in kills with 126, third in aces with 16 while leading the team in blocks with 72, including 19 solo.
Vassar begins the UVC Championship this Friday against sixth-seeded Hobart in a quarterfinal matchup beginning at 7:30 p.m. at NYU.
