Elizabeth Burgess (Columbus, OH) had another strong week for the Brewers, who went 3-0 and in the process posted the best start on record in program history, collecting her third Liberty League Rookie of the Week Award.
Burgess finished an unbeaten week for the Brewers with nine points while adding a groundball and three draw controls.
Burgess opened the week with a goal in a 16-2 win against Fitchburg State in Palm Beach City, FL and closed the two-game trip to the Sunshine State with a pair of assists against Oneonta in a 19-5 triumph.
In the Liberty League opener on Saturday at Clarkson, Burgess totaled six points, scoring five times and adding an assist as Vassar outlasted the Golden Knights 15-14 in overtime. Burgess closed a big game with all three of her draw controls and a groundball.
Through six games, Burgess ranks eighth in the Liberty League in goals per game.
At 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Liberty League Vassar returns home for the first time since March 1 on Saturday when it plays host to St. Lawrence.
