Rochester, NY - Sophomore
Haley Schoenegge became the first student-athlete in Vassar College history to win two national championships in a career on Saturday as she took home her second overall and first indoor national title in the mile with a time of 4:47.04 at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Nazareth University. Schoenegge also closed the championship with Second Team All-American honors in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:46.83.
Junior
Jahmilia Dennis also made her second straight appearance in the triple jump at the National Championships for Vassar.
Triple Jump
- Dennis made her second straight appearance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships as the junior recorded a top leap of 11.28 meters to finish 19th overall.
- Dennis finishes the indoor season as the three-time defending Liberty League triple jump champion and finished runner-up at the AARTFC Indoor Championships last weekend.
Mile
- Schoenegge took home her second career National Championship and her first indoor national title as she posted a career-best time of 4:47.04 and now holds the 11th fastest mile time in Division III history.
- She also set the Nazareth University facility record with her time while outpaced the next finisher by almost two seconds and turning in a final 200 meters split of 33.64.
3000 Meters
- Schoenegge closed an outstanding weekend with a 13th place finish in the 3000 meters to secure Second Team All-American honors with a time of 9:46.83.
