Women’s Lacrosse Opens 2025 Season Saturday Afternoon Against Drew

Opening Draw set for 12:00 p.m.

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Lacrosse team opens the 2025 season and plays the first seven home games Saturday afternoon when it plays host to Drew at Weinburg Turf Field. Live Stats and Video will be available for those unable to attend the 12:00 p.m. contest.
 
At A Glance
  • Vassar is coming off a 3-12 overall record in 2024 that included a 2-8 mark against Liberty League rivals.
  • Junior Tess Billings (Deerfield, IL) and sophomore Emilia DiLiberto (Allison Park, PA) were each named Honorable Mention All-Liberty League in 2024.
  • Vassar was named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad and nine Brewers were named to the Academic Honor Roll a season ago.
  • Kali Ringler (North Andover, MA) was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators in 2024.
 
Attack/Midfield
  • Vassar returns 14 players at attack/midfield with collegiate experience in 2025.
  • Billings led the offensive attack a season ago with 24 goals and 32 points.
  • DiLiberto had a strong rookie season in 2024, ranking second on the team with 20 goals and 25 points while leading the team with 72 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers.
  • Maeve Faigel (North Andover, MA) also put together a strong rookie season, compiling 14 goals and 18 points.
  • Ringler chipped in 17 points on the strength of 14 goals and three assists and added 12 caused turnovers.
  • Reilly Mulcahy (Arlington, VA) produced 13 points in 2024, scoring nine times and assisting on four other tallies.
  • The Brewers will look to juniors Karina Gyllenhaal (Beverley, MA), Sloan Shade (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and Phoebe Florance (Oakland, CA) to support the offensive attack in 2025.
  • Catherine Peacock (Stockton, NJ) was limited to nine games in 2024, but finished second on the team in draw controls with 29.
  • Senior Elizabeth Kendrick (Big Sky, MT) returns to the Vassar lineup after appearing in 20 games covering the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
  • Also back in 2025 is senior Madison Bouggess (Swedesboro, NJ) who appeared in 26 games over the 2022 and 2023 seasons and picked up 28 groundballs and won 26 draw controls.
  • A talented group of sophomores will look to spark the offense in 2025 with the return of Sigrid Fredlund (Seattle, WA), Amelia Poirier (Atherton, CA) and Siena Wong (Scotts Valley, CA).
  • Newcomers Logan Skuro (Chappaqua, NY), Megan Sweeney (Orlando, FL), Annabelle Tracy (Warwick, RI), Maddie Kaltsas (Minnetrista, MN) and Elizabeth Burgess (Columbus, OH) will look to step in an make an impact from the start of the season.
 
Defense
  • Julia Lawless (Valley Stream, NY) looks to lead the defensive corps in 2025 after appearing in 15 games and totaling seven caused turnovers and four draw controls a season ago.
  • Emily Stoff (Lambertville, NJ) appeared in 13 games as a junior and totaled four caused turnovers.
  • Senior Faith Kim (Burnsville, MN) is back in 2025 after appearing in 10 games as a junior.
  • Sophomores Whitney Rowan (Bronxville, NY), Olivia Del Tatto (Bayville, NY), Amanda Hahn (LaGrange, IL), Emily Kallman (Jamestown, RI) and Norah Flinn (Cranston, RI) all return to help anchor the backline for the Brewers.
  • Del Tatto closed a rookie season in 2024 with 10 forced miscues and 12 groundballs.
  • Liz Lange (Upton, MA) joins the defensive unit in 2025 as a rookie.
 
Goalie
  • The Brewers welcome back three goalies with experience in 2025.
  • Senior Bree MacMullen (Medford, NJ) returns after seeing time in nine games in 2024 and totaling 12 saves.
  • Junior Maddie Busam (Summitt, NJ) appeared in a pair of contests in 2024.
  • Sophomore Cassidy Schuchat (Hopewell Junction, NY) saw action in one contest as a rookie in 2024 and turned aside four shots.
 
Captains
  • MacMullen and Ringler have been selected as the team captains for the 2025 season.
 
Head Coach
  • Judy Finerghty will be on the sidelines for her 32nd season of the Women's Lacrosse program in 2025.
 
The Schedule
  • Vassar plays two of its first three games at home, hosting Drew and Hartford with a road game at Farmingdale State in between.
  • The Brewers head to Panama City Beach, FL over Spring Break to take on Fitchburg State and Oneonta March 11 and 12.
  • Liberty League play commences on March 15 at Clarkson.
  • Other road league tilts include trips to Skidmore, Rochester, RIT and Union.
  • St. Lawrence makes the trip to Poughkeepsie on March 22 and the Brewers will end the regular season with a four-game home stand with games against Ithaca, RPI, Bard and William Smith.
  • The 2025 Liberty League Championship begins with the First Round on April 29 and continues with the Semifinal Round on May 2 and the Championship Final on May 4.
