Women's Track and Field Excels at Bomber Invite

Schoenegge scores first place finish in 5000 meters, second place in 800 meters

Ithaca, NY - The Vassar College Women's Cross Country team returned to action at the Bomber Invite on Saturday as the Brewers scored numerous top-five finishes in the first meet of 2025.

5000 Meters

Sophomore Haley Schoenegge was victorious in the 5000 meters with an AARTFC qualifying time of 18:35.82 and defeated the next closest finisher by 40 seconds.
Sophomore Acadia Helfand scored a third place finish in 19:15.80 along with first year Sophia Marchioli crossing the finish line in fifth place in 19:18.80.
First year Hadley Snell posted a sixth place finish with a time of 19:22.06 followed by classmate Chloe Bibula earning an eighth place finish in 19:32.28.
Sophomore Cayley Swaim crossed the finish line in 12th with a mark of 20:22.92 and senior Sophie Farr posted a time of 21:32.99.

60 Meter Hurdles

Junior Jahmilia Dennis earned a 10th place finish with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 9.39 while first year Elana Pukel was 21st overall in 10.24.

60 Meters

Junior Jamie Eu and first year Lainie D'Auria finished back-to-back in 21st and 22nd place, respectively, as Eu crossed the finish line in 8.38 and D'Auria posted a time of 8.39.
Senior Lily Falkowski scored a top-40 finish in 8.64 along with first year Caroline Thelen scoring a time of 8.78 and senior Kali Ringler posting a mark of 8.82.

Mile

Sophomore Adelaide Nyhan secured a sixth place finish with an AARTFC time of 5:16.81 while senior Sophia Henderson was 11th overall with a time of 5:23.20.
Sophomore Norah Reade finished 12th overall in a time of 5:24.35 followed closely by first year Lizzie Lowe in 16th position in 5:27.35.
First year Sarah France closed the Vassar finishers with a 23rd place finish in 5:35.25.

4x200 Relay

The relay team of Eu, first year Lianna Camille, D'Auria and Dennis scored a sixth place finish in 1:53.04 followed by the squad of Ringler, first year Skylar Spiro, Thelen and senior Faye Stevens finishing seventh with a time of 1:53.78.

400 Meters

Sophomore Maya Carey earned a top-30 finish with a time of 1:06.32 while junior Maddie Busam crossed the finish line in 1:10.79 for a top-40 finish.

800 Meters

Schoenegge continued her strong day with a second place finish in an AARTFC time of 2:18.57.

200 Meters

D'Auria and Spiro crossed the finish line back-to-back with D'Auria finished in 29.22 (29.212) and Spiro posted a time of 29.22 (29.214).
Falkowski scored a top-85 finish with a mark of 31.05.

4x400 Relay

The relay squad of Henderson, Nyhan, Reade and Lowe raced to a fourth place finish with a time of 4:17.08.
The relay team of Thelen, Camille, Spiro and Stevens finished 13th overall in 4:26.72 followed by Busam, Carey, junior Catherine Peacock and Pukel finishing 15th with a time of 4:36.37.

Shot Put

First year Amanda Hanrahan scored a top-30 finish with a toss of 9.80 meters while senior Soleil Yuong recorded a mark of 9.40 meters.
Junior Kolby Davis notched a throw of 8.36 meters for a top-45 finish.

Long Jump

D'Auria posted a 17th place finish with a leap of 4.73 meters while Pukel finished 27th overall with a mark of 4.53 meters.
Eu recorded a mark of 4.46 meters along with junior Abbe Colgan scoring a leap of 4.14 meters.
