Schoenegge Breaks Own 3000 Meters School Record; Women's Track and Field Opens Season at Crowell Open

New York & West Point, NY - The Vassar College Women's Track and Field team began the 2025-26 campaign on Friday at the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival and the West Point Crowell Open as junior Haley Schoenegge broke her own 3000 meters school record at the Armory with a time of 9:32.71 to earn a first place finish.

  • 5000 Meters
    • Senior Anika Mueller-Hickler earned a top-10 finish after crossing the finish line in a new personal-best time of 18:00.00 for a ninth place overall finish
  • 3000 Meters
    • Schoenegge shattered her own school record mark by six seconds as she crossed the finish line with a first place finish in a time of 9:32.71.
Crowell Open Results
  • Pentathlon
    • Sophomore Elana Pukel scored an eighth place finish for the Brewers as Pukel finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 8.10 meters.
    • Pukel tallied a sixth place finish in the high jump at a career-best 1.41 meters and finished seventh overall in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.07.
    • The sophomore closed the day with a ninth place finish in the long jump at 4.64 meters and recorded a ninth place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 3:01.34.
  • 5000 Meters
    • Junior Acadia Helfand registered a second place finish with a career-best time of 18:11.95 followed by sophomore Chloe Bibula finishing third overall in a career-best 18:26.12.
    • Sophomore Hadley Snell crossed the finish line in fourth position in 18:47.47 along with first year Cate Feudtner earning a fifth place finish in 19:11.46.
    • Senior Nora Goldberg-Courtney turned in a sixth place finish with a time of 19:31.27 and first year Taylor Vogt recorded a seventh place finish with a time of 20:25.28.

  • Vassar will return to West Point tomorrow for the second day of the Crowell Open beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Gillis Field House.
