Vassar Suffers Home Losses To St. Lawrence, Haverford

Ordaya scores victory against Haverford

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Squash team was back in action Saturday afternoon, falling 9-0 to St. Lawrence and 8-1 to Haverford. Senior Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) was victorious for the Brewers against the Fords.
 
Following Saturday's results, Vassar stands at 4-7 overall on the season.
 
Vassar 0 – St. Lawernce 9
  • In the opener against St. Lawrence, Ordaya battled for the Brewers in an 8-11, 6-11, 11-9, 10-12 decision.
  • Charlotte Tobin (Lakeville, CT) suffered a hard fought 4-11, 5-11, 7-11 defeat at the top position.
  • Hope Fireison (Alexandria, VA) was in action at two and competed in a 2-11, 4-11, 11-13 decision.
 
Vassar 1 – Haverford 8
  • Ordaya closed the day with a four-frame victory over Haverford's Julia Carrasco. After splitting the opening two frames 8-11 and 11-7, Ordaya outlasted Carrasco 11-7 and 13-11 to earn the victory.
  • Tobin went the distance at the top spot, dropping an 11-9, 11-7, 10-12, 6-11, 4-11 heartbreaker.
  • Fireison fell in four sets against the Fords, battling in a 7-11, 10-12, 11-8, 4-11 decision.
  • Nang Eaint May (Troy, NY) also went five on Saturday playing at the seventh position, suffering a 11-8, 11-5, 9-11, 5-11, 7-11 defeat.
