Hartford, CT – The Vassar College Men's Rowing team was in the water for the first time this fall on Sunday at the Head of the Riverfront. The Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 boats each posted seventh-place finishes to lead the Brewers.

Jasper Piermarini (North Brookfield, MA),
Patrick Horiszny (Red Hook, NY),
Trygve Aarestad (Roslindale, MA),
Hogan Flechtner (Sudbury, MA),
Patrick Cincotti (Brighton, MA),
Robert Gee (Hopewell Junction, NY) and coxswain Miriam Barker (Idlewylde, MD) raced to a seventh-place finish in a time of 12:42.303.
Vassar's first varsity 4 boat of Piermarini, Horiszny, Cincotti and Gee steered by coxswain Frances Dunn finished seventh in a time of 13:16.543 with the Brewers' second entry of Nokes,
Cormac St. John (Seattle, WA), Aarestad, Flechtner and coxswain
Sofia DeRose placed ninth in 13:47.731.
Vassar's entry on Sunday also featured a pair of mixed 8 boats with the boat of
Dorien Laurens, Rena Badami, Iiris Lepmets, Piermarini, Horiszny, Aarestad, Flechtner and coxswain
Frances Dunn leading the way with a runner-up finish in a time of 14:35.483.
The second mixed boat of
Thomas Sporte (Oakland, CA), Sitota Blomquist, Bridgette Nally, Nokes, France, Cincotti, Gee and coxswain
DeRose followed closely in third place, racing to a time of 15:11.482.
Next up for the Brewers is a trip to Boston for the Head of the Charles October 17-19.
