Brewers Start Season With Impressive Victories Over Bard, New Paltz

Brewers win eight events on Wednesday

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team began the 2025-26 season in strong fashion on Wednesday after posting a 127-36 victory over Bard and a 113-64 win against New Paltz. The Brewers won eight events in the meet, including two apiece from Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) and First Year Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD).
 
Vassar begins the season with a 2-0 record with New Paltz moving to 1-1 and Bard opening the year at 0-2.
 
For The Brewers
  • Seaton had a big meet for Vassar with wins in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. Seaton produced a blistering 21.91 time in the 50-yard race before topping the field in 48.32 seconds in the 100-yard event.
  • Lakhan started his career in fine fashion with wins on Wednesday in the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.83) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.58).
  • First Year Jack Powers (Buffalo, NY) turned in a strong meet with a win in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing nearly 23 seconds clear of the runner-up finisher.
  • Junior Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) won the 100-yard backstroke for the Brewers in a time of 54.18 seconds.
  • Sophomore Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) scored a victory for Vassar in the 200-yard freestyle after besting the field in a time of 1:51.99.
  • James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) in the 100-yard butterfly, Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) in the 200-yard freestyle, John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) in the 100-yard backstroke, Eli House (Oneonta, NY) in the 200-yard individual medley, Noah Rich (Dover, NH) in the 100-yard breaststroke and Laszlo Lawless (Monterey, CA) in the 500-yard freestyle all recorded runner-up finishes for the Brewers on Wednesday.
  • Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) in the 1,000-yard freestyle, Croix Horsley (Cinnaminson, NJ) in the 500-yard freestyle, Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) in the 200-yard individual medley and Jacob Collette (Milford, CT) in the 100-yard freestyle all picked up third-place finishes for Vassar on Wednesday
  • The Brewers opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Jauregui, Lakhan, Seaton and House swimming to a winning time of 1:38.06.
