Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams open the 2025-26 season Wednesday evening when they welcome Bard and New Paltz to Kresge Pool. Events are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with Live Video available for those unable to attend.
The Schedule
- Including Wednesday's season opener, the Brewers will be in action at Kresge pool on three occasions.
- The second home meet of the year will come on November 15 when the Brewers host Liberty League rival RPI.
- The home schedule concludes on January 31 when the Brewers host the VC Sprint Invitational on Senior Day.
Compete For A Cause
- The Brewers will host their Compete for a Cause meet on November 15 against RPI with specific details to follow.
A Look At The Women's Squad
- The Brewers return 14 student-athletes from last year's roster, a team that won four duals meets a season ago and finished fifth at the Liberty League Championship.
- Senior Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) is back for Vassar after winning the 500-yard freestyle title at the Liberty League Championship for the third straight year. The victory was the first of three top-10 finishes with Wiener adding at fourth-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle and a sixth-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Junior Anna Little (North Huntingdon, PA) also had a strong championship a season ago, posting a runner-up finish in the 400-yard individual medley and a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Fellow junior Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) recorded a fourth-place finish at last year's championship in the 200-yard butterfly for the Brewers.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay team featuring returners Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ), Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) and Wiener swam to a runner-up finish for Vassar.
- The Brewers also return two divers from last season in Caroline Griem (Brooklyn, NY) and Ella Maniatis (Lafayette, CA).
- Vassar also welcomes a talented group of seven newcomers to the fold in 2025-26.
- The Brewers were recognized for their work in the classroom as a CSCAA Academic All-American team in both the Spring and the Fall.
- Little, McLaughlin, Wiener and Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) were all named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.
A Look At The Men's Squad
- Vassar welcomes back 16 from last season's team that won three dual meets and placed sixth at the Liberty League Championship.
- Vassar saw three swimmers earn Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors last year with Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) earning two. Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) and John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) were also recognized with weekly awards during their rookie seasons.
- The Brewers set nine school records at last year's Liberty League Championship, including four individual school standards from Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI).
- Jauregui scored the team's best individual finish at last year's championship with a runner-up showing in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Jauregui, Gao and Seaton were part of the school record setting 200 and 400-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams.
- Eli House (Oneonta, NY) joined Seaton and Jauregui as part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that set the school record.
- Five newcomers join the squad for the 2025-26 season and will look to make an immediate impact starting on Wednesday.
- Out of the pool, Vassar was recognized as a CSCAA Academic All-American team in both the Fall and the Spring.
- Individually, Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) and James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) were named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.
