Troy, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners for the week ending September 15th as Vassar College Women's Cross Country sophomore
Haley Schoenegge collected her second straight Performer of the Week award following her performance this weekend at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational.
Schoenegge, coming off of last week's USTFCCCA Division III National Athlete of the Week selection, put together another dominate race as the sophomore crossed the finish line in 18:47.2, outpacing the next finisher by 13 seconds to earn her second straight first place finish to open the season. The sophomore's effort propelled Vassar to a first place team finish for the second straight meet as the #22 Brewers defeated #1 NYU in the second consecutive meet at the Vassar Farm.
Schoenegge led the way for the Brewers in the first meet of the season with a first place overall finish in a new meet record time of 10:32.6 at the 3K Vassar Season Starter. Vassar finished with 30 points, just nipping the top-ranked Violets by four points, to earn a team first place finish.
The Brewers will return to the course on Saturday, September 21st for the Wesleyan Invitational at 11:00 a.m.
