South Hadley, MA – The Vassar College Women's Squash team finished off the regular season with victories over Wellesley and Smith to finish out the regular season on Saturday. The Brewers posted a 6-3 victory over Wellesley to start the day and cruised to a 7-2 triumph over Smith in the final contest of the afternoon.
With a 2-1 record on Saturday, Vassar closes the regular season with a 7-9 overall record.
For The Brewers Vs. Wellesley
- The Brewers won the top six positions against Wellesley in the match.
- Anna Lee (Malverne, PA) posted a hard fought 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 5-11, 11-4 victory at one for the Brewers.
- Adriana Ordaya Hartford, CT), eased to an 11-4, 11-9, 11-5 victory at two for Vassar.
- Sehar Dey-Kohli (Chicago, IL) won the first match of the day at three with a 11-6, 11-9, 12-10 victory.
- Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) took care of the opponent at four in a 11-3, 11-1, 11-7 decision.
- At five, Kelsey O'Connell (Chapel Hill, NC) turned in an 11-8, 11-2, 11-8 victory.
- Pearla Leal Castellanos (Elmhurst, NY) was in action at six for the Brewers and came away with an impressive 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 win.
For The Brewers Vs. Mount Holyoke (L, 6-3)
- Lee produced a second win on the day at one for the Brewers against Mount Holyoke, scoring an 11-7, 11-4, 11-6 triumph.
- Dey-Kohli also picked up her second win in as many matches in the second contest of the day with a 11-6, 11-8, 11-2 victory at three for Vassar.
- Mea Vesci (Ithaca, NY) got into the win column on Saturday, outlasting Mount Holyoke's Lauren McCormich at seven by scores of 3-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-13 and 11-7.
For The Brewers Vs. Smith
- Lee moved to 3-0 on the day in the final contest of the day with an 11-6, 11-4, 9-11, 11-6 victory at the top position.
- Ordaya collected a second win on Saturday at two in an 11-2, 11-3, 11-2 victory.
- Dey-Kohli also improved to a perfect 3-0 on the day at three after earning an 11-4, 11-5, 11-3 win for the Brewers.
- Choudhri closed out a strong day at four after picking up an 11-3, 12-10, 11-6 triumph.
- O'Connell got back into the win column against Smith at the fifth position in an 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 victory.
- Leal Castellanos added a second win on Saturday at six, winning in four by scores of 11-4, 11-2, 10-12, 11-3 win.
- Vesci earned another win at seven for the Brewers, sweeping Smith's Joy Mahoney by scores of 11-7, 11-7, 11-3.
