Women’s Squash Splits Two Matches At Bard Round Robin

Vassar tops Smith 7-1 in second match of the day

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY – The Vassar College Women's Squash team returned to action Saturday afternoon, spitting a pair of matches at the Bard Round Robin. The Brewers opened the day with an 8-0 loss to Brown before rebounding with a 7-1 triumph over Smith.

Saturday's split moves Vassar to 2-3 overall through the season's first five contests.

Vassar 0 – Brown 8

First Year Charlotte Tobin (Lakeview, CT) battled in a tough 6-11, 5-11, 9-11 defeat at two.
Sarah Boucher-Rowe (London, UK) suffered a hard fought 6-11, 6-11, 3-11 defeat at three for the Brewers.

Vassar 7 – Smith 1

The Brewers posted sweeps in each match that was contested.
Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) eased to an 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 victory at the top position for the Brewers.
Tobin for back into the win column with an 11-2, 11-4, 11-1 victory at the second slot.
Boucher-Rowe swept the opponent from Smith 11-1, 11-4, 11-2 at three.
Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) got into the win column at four with a tough 11-6, 11-6, 11-5 victory.
First Year Lexi Donshik (Simsbury, CT) scored a victory at five for Vassar, posting an 11-8, 11-6, 11-4 triumph.
Ruby Shang (Chaoyang, China) broke into the win column with an 11-3, 11-7, 11-0 victory at six.
Playing at seven, Perla Leal Castillanos (Elmhurst, NY), earned an 11-8, 11-2, 11-2 win for Vassar.

Vassar returns home on November 17 when it plays host to Wesleyan.
