Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Squash team began the 2024-25 season with a trio of home matches within Kenyon Hall on Saturday. The Brewers opened the campaign with a 5-2 victory over Fordham, before battling in losses to Boston University and Northeastern.
Saturday's result move Vassar to 1-2 through the season's first three matches.
Vassar 5 – Fordham 2
- The Brewers won at the first five positions against the Rams.
- Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) was in action at one for the Brewers and posted an impressive 11-5, 11-3, 11-2 victory.
- Charlotte Tobin (Lakeville, CT) made her collegiate debut against the Rams and dispatched her opponent at two by scores of 11-1, 11-3, 11-0.
- Sarah Boucher-Rowe (London, UK) took a decision at three for Vassar with a 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 triumph.
- Senior Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) took the season opener at the fourth position with an 11-8, 11-7, 11-4 victory.
- At five, First Year Lexi Donshik (Simsbury, CT) outlasted the opponent from Fordham 12-10, 6-11, 11-8, 11-0.
Vassar 4 – Boston U. 5
- Tobin moved to 2-0 on the day with an 11-3, 11-4,11-1 victory at two against the Terriers.
- Boucher-Rowe also continued a strong start with her second win of the day, taking an 11-2, 7-11, 11-3, 11-4 decision.
- Choudhri also moved to 2-0 after earning an 11-6, 11-7, 11-3 victory at the fourth position.
- Donshik battled past the opponent at five, rallying in a hard fought 5-11, 13-15, 11-7, 11-1, 13-11 triumph.
Vassar 2 – Northeastern 6
- Tobin closed out a perfect day with her third win at the second spot, posting an 11-7, 11-4, 11-3 victory against the Huskies.
- Ordaya moved to 2-1 on the day at the top position with an 11-8, 11-9, 10-12, 11-9 triumph.
