Haverford, PA – The Vassar College Women's Squash team returned to action on Saturday, toppling Bucknell 7-1 to begin the day before suffering a 9-0 sweep at the hands of host Haverford. Five of the Brewers' seven victories against the Bison came via sweep.
Saturday's split moves Vassar's overall record to 5-8 on the season.
For The Brewers vs. Bucknell
- Anna Lee (Malvene, PA) was in action at the top position for the Brewers and eased to an 11-3, 11-8, 11-3 victory.
- At two, Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) outlasted Bucknell's Ellie Hyder 3-2. After the two split the first four sets, Ordaya posted an 11-5 victory in the fifth to secure the victory.
- Sehar Dey-Kohli (Chicago, IL) took an 11-3, 11-6, 11-5 decision at three for the Brewers.
- Sarah Boucher-Rowe (London, UK) secured an 11-1, 11-6, 11-6 triumph at four for Vassar.
- Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) took care of Tegan Kelsall at five on Saturday, scoring a 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 victory.
- Kelsey O'Connell (Chapel Hill, NC) battled to a 3-1 victory ay six, overcoming a 1-0 deficit to earn an 8-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8 win for the Brewers.
- Playing at eight, senior Mea Vesci (Ithaca, NY) worked to an 11-6, 12-10, 11-8 victory.
For The Brewers vs. Haverford
- Lee put together a strong effort at one against the Fords in a 7-11, 7-11, 9-11 defeat.
- Dey-Kohli battled hard at three for the Brewers, suffering a 10-12, 3-11, 5-11 loss.
- Boucher-Rowe was back in action at four, battling in a 9-11, 3-11, 2-11 loss.
- O'Connell played tough for the Brewers at six in a tough 5-11, 4-11, 11-13 decision.
What's Next
- Vassar closes out the regular season on February 3 when it travels to South Hadley, MA to take on Wellesley, Mount Holyoke and Smith.
