LEXINGTON, KY - The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Thursday morning that Vassar College Men's Volleyball senior outside hitter
Andrew Kim has been tabbed the AVCA Division III National Player of the Year. This is the first time in Vassar program history that a student-athlete has garnered the National Player of the Year award.
Kim has put together an incredible senior campaign as he currently sits in the top 10 nationally in hitting percentage (.411), kills per set (3.94)Â and points per set (4.67). He has helped lead the Brewers to their fourth trip in school history to the National Semifinals and also helped Vassar to its first-ever #1 ranking in the AVCA/NVA National Coaches Poll. Kim was named the AVCA Division III National Player of the Week twice this season and was also tabbed the UVC Player of the Week five times this season.
Kim adds the National Player of the Year recognition to his 2023 list of accolades that includes UVC Player of the Year and AVCA North Region Player of the Year. He also earned his third AVCA All-America honor with a First Team selection this year, as he was a Second Team pick last year and a First Team pick in 2021.Â
