Annandale-On-Hudson, NY – The Vassar College Women's Squash team continued a busy weekend on Saturday, splitting a pair of matches at the Bard Round Robin. The Brewers began the day falling to Northeastern 9-0 before rebounding to overwhelm Wellesley 8-1 in the second match of the day.
Saturday's split moves Vassar to 3-3 overall on the season through the year's first six contests.
For The Brewers – Northeastern
- Anna Lee (Malvern, PA) dropped a marathon match at one against the Huskies, suffering a hard fought 12-14, 7-11, 0-11 decision.
- Olivia Berkson (Providence, RI) also battled hard for the Brewers in a 6-11, 13-11, 11-13, 6-11 decision at two.
- Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) was topped 3-1 at three, competing hard in an 11-8, 6-11, 10-12, 10-12 defeat.
- Sarah Boucher-Rowe (London, UK) was also edged 3-1 against the Huskies, putting together a strong showing in a 13-11, 5-11, 11-13, 6-11 decision.
- At five, Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) was topped in a hard fought 4-11, 10-12, 3-11 defeat.
- Kelsey O'Connell (Chapel Hill, NC) was back in action at six on Saturday, suffering a tough 3-11, 8-11, 9-11 defeat.
For The Brewers – Wellesley
- The Brewers rebounded in the second match of the day, starting with an 11-7, 13-11, 11-7 win for Lee at the top position.
- Berkson topped the opponent at two for the Brewers in an 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 victory.
- Ordaya picked up a victory at three for Vassar, topping the opponent from Wellesley 11-8, 11-4, 11-8.
- Boucher-Rowe found the win column at four for the Brewers, sweeping Ishita Bhargava from Wellesley 11-4, 11-5, 12-10.
- Choudhri rebounded against Wellesley with an 11-5, 11-4, 11-3 triumph at five.
- O'Connell found the win column for the first time this season with an 11-4, 11-5, 11-5 victory for Vassar.
- Chloe Vaiman (New York, NY) took care of the opponent from Wellesley at seven in an 11-6, 11-6, 11-4 decision.
- Perla Leal Castellanos (Elmhurst, NY) got into the win column at eight with an impressive 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 victory.
