Poughkeepsie, NY – After falling to St. Lawrence Friday evening in its season opener, the Vassar College Women's Squash team rebounded for a pair of victories on Saturday, topping Boston University 5-4 and Bard 6-0. Vassar won the first five positions against the Terries with each match against Bard finishing in a 3-0 sweep.
Saturday's victories push Vassar ton 2-1 overall on the season through the year's first three matches.
For The Brewers – BU
- Captain Emma Adams (Berwyn, PA) got off to a fast start at one, battling to an 11-7, 12-10, 11-9 win.
- Fellow captain Olivia Berkson (Providence, RI) posted a win for the Brewers at the third slot, outlasting the opponent from the Terriers by scores of 7-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-4, 11-4.
- Anna Lee (Malvern, PA), the third member of Vassar's leadership group, competed hard in a 11-7, 12-10, 11-9 win for the Brewers.
- Adriana Ordaya (Hartford, CT) was in action in the fourth slot and picked up an 11-6, 11-4, 11-4 triumph.
- Sarah Boucher-Rowe (London, UK) cruised to a 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 victory for the Brewers at the fifth position.
For The Brewers – Bard
- The Brewers did not drop a game to the visiting Raptors on Saturday, winning each of the six matches by 3-0 scores.
- Adams scored a second victory of the day with an 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 victory at the top position.
- Berkson overwhelmed the opponent at two, posting an 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 triumph in just 12 minutes.
- Ordaya dispatched the opponent from Bard at three by scores of 11-4, 11-5, 11-4.
- Boucher-Rowe also picked up a second victory on Saturday against Bard, surging to a, 11-6, 11-4, 11-4 win.
- Sophia Choudhri (Waycross, GA) got into the win column at five after finishing off the opponent from Bard by scores of 11-4, 11-5, 11-2.
- Perla Leal Castellanos (Elmhurst, NY) also got into the win column for the first time on Saturday following an 11-4, 11-8, 11-7 victory for the Brewers.
