Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – Powered by a goal in each half, the Vassar College men's soccer team posted a 2-0 win at Bard College in Liberty League action on Wednesday evening. The Brewers move to 6-3-0 with a 2-0-0 league mark, while the Raptors are now 4-3-1 and 0-2-0 in Liberty League play.
The Brewers opened the game's scoring early as sophomore midfielder
Duncan Keker scored on a low center shot in the third minute. Vassar junior
Teddy Borgos nearly gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage in the 13th minute, but his shot was saved by Bard keeper Gavin Hersey to keep it 1-0.
Keker nearly had another chance in the 15th minute, but his shot went wide right. Sophomore defender
Brandon Liu fired in a low shot on the right side in the 24th minute, but Hersey was once again there for the timely stop.
The homestanding Raptors nearly netted the equalizer seconds after the Liu shot as Caleb Ribeiro sent a low ball in on the left, but senior goalie
Eric Wnorowski came up with the save to preserve the Vassar advantage.
Neither team was able to threaten again in the opening half as the Brewers posted a 5-1 advantage in shots, including a 3-1 margin on goal through the first 45 minutes of play.
Second half action saw the Raptors pick up the intensity as Calvin Moe sent a shot in on goal that was saved by Wnorowski once again to preserve the one-goal lead in the 51st minute. Bard threw another shot in minutes later, but Ribeiro's shot went high to the left and out of play.
The Raptors continued to press with Moe and Ribeiro each sending shots in on the Vassar goal, but it was the Brewers in the late stages of the contest that capitalized. In the 88th minute with time winding down, Bard earned a free kick on the Vassar side. Pulling their goalie into a positional role, the Raptors sent the ball into a scramble near the top of the box.

Owen Fauth dribbled a couple of steps before sending a long arching shot toward the Bard goal. With the Raptors keeper on the other end, the ball sailed into the open net for the 2-0 lead, which Vassar made stand in the final minute.
The Brewers held a narrow 9-7 margin in shots for the game, including a 6-3 advantage on goal. The Brewers also had a 6-5 edge in corner kicks for the game.
Wnorowski earned the victory, posting three saves, while Hersey shouldered the loss with four stops in the Raptors goal.
Vassar is back on the pitch on Saturday when it hosts Union in Liberty League play on Gordon Field. Game time is set for 2pm.
