TROY, NY – The Liberty League announced its weekly honors in men's soccer and Vassar College student-athlete
Owen Fauth was recognized. The senior captain was named the Offensive Performer of the Week after recording all of the Brewers goals in a 1-1-0 week.
Fauth was the offensive catalyst for the Brewers as Vassar went 1-1-0 last week. In a 2-1 win at New Paltz he scored both Brewers goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick. Fauth then scored the Brewers lone goal in a tough 2-1 loss to Montclair State on Saturday. He had four shots for the week, three on goal.
A starter in all six games this season, Fauth leads the Brewers in scoring with five goals for 10 points. He has posted a team-best 16 shots – 11 on goal – with his one game-winner from this past weekend.
Among the Liberty League leaders, Fauth ranks second in goals scored, fourth in points, third in shots on goal and sixth in shots.
Last season, Fauth appeared in 13 games for the Brewers, including three as a starter. He had a goal with eight shots (four on goal). As a rookie, he played in all 18 games for Vassar, including 10 starts with two goals and an assist for five points.
Vassar (3-3-0) returns to the pitch on Tuesday in a 7:30pm contest at Manhattanville.
