SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Vassar College men's and women's rowing teams returned to the water on Saturday, competing against Middlebury College, St. John Fisher and host Skidmore College at Fish Creek.
In the women's varsity eight, Vassar posted third overall in 8:04, trailing Middlebury (7:20) and Skidmore (7:42), while eclipsing St. John Fisher (8:11).
The women's second varsity eight saw another stacked race as Middlebury's A boat recorded the victory in 7:33. Vassar took fourth overall, crossing in 8:16 behind the Panthers, Skidmore (7:56) and Middlebury's B boat (8:02). Once again, the Brewers 2V8 outpaced the Cardinals, who finished in 9:36.
On the men's side, the Brewers Varsity Eight finished fourth overall in a time of 6:59, trailing Middlebury's A boat (6:22), Skidmore (6:41) and the Panthers B boat (6:46).
The Brewers saw two boats in action for the Varsity Four event, as the Vassar A boat took third in 7:44, while the B crew was fourth in 7:57. Middlebury was the race winner in 7:17, followed by Skidmore (7:36).
Both Vassar squads return to action next Saturday, heading to Union College.
