POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Vassar women's squash team returned to action on Saturday at the Kenyon Squash Courts, taking on Connecticut College and Haverford College. The Brewers opened the day with a tough 7-2 loss to the Camels. The second match of the day saw the Brewers shoulder a 9-0 loss to the Fords.
The day's action opened against the Camels as Tanya Mendoza got Conn College on the board with an 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 win over Vassar rookie
Chloe Vaiman at nine. Next up from six, Conn's Angela Cao posted an 11-4, 11-6, 11-3 win over Brewers freshman
Mariya Novosad, while two saw Isabel Schumacher edge junior captain
Anna Lee, 11-9, 13-11, 11-9.
The Camels grabbed a 4-0 lead from eight as Kimberly Lucero posted an 11-6, 11-3, 11-0 victory over Vassar junior
Kelsey O'Connell, while from seven, Caroline Champa notched an 11-1, 11-4, 11-2 win against Brewers sophomore

Emma Adams battled to another hard-fought match with Matamoros the victor by an 11-3, 8-11, 11-7, 12-10 margin.
The Brewers rebounded at five as junior captain
Olivia Berkson picked up Vassar's first point with a hard-battle against Crystal Dixon. After trailing in the opening games, Berkson battled back to take three straight for an 8-11, 11-13, 11-7, 14-12, 11-6 victory.
Vassar continued it's winning streak over the final two matches, beginning at three as junior
Sehar Dey-Kohli posted an 11-9, 11-5, 4-11 retirement victory against Conn's Karen Escalera. The match wrapped up from four as Miranda Medina came from behind to beat Vassar rookie
Adriana Ordaya by an 9-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-5, 11-5 score.
In the second match of the day, the Fords posted a 9-0 sweep. From the top of the ladder, Ariana Solecki posted an 11-2, 11-6, 11-9 win against Adams, while two saw Haverford's Catherine Fortin with a 12-14, 11-5, 11-9, 11-8 victory over Lee. At three, Emi Krishnamurthy was an 11-7, 11-4, 11-9 victor against Sehar Dey-Koli, while four saw Caroline Smith defeat Vassar's Ordaya, 11-5, 11-8, 11-3. Five was a battle between Lyvia Yan and Berkson with Haverford's Yan earning the win by an 11-6, 8-11, 12-14, 16-14, 11-2 score.
From six, Amelia Stevens was an 11-4, 11-2, 11-2 winner against Novosad, while Emilia Zegers posted an 11-3, 11-2, 11-6 win against the Brewers Choudhri at seven. Eight saw Aman Hamdard best O'Connell, 11-2, 11-7, 11-4, while nine was an 11-4, 11-5, 11-2 win for Maya Johnson-Fraidin over Vaiman.
The Brewers are now idle for the holiday break and return to action on December 2nd at home when they host Middlebury College at 6pm at Kenyon Courts.
