POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - It was a solid start to the 2021-22 season for the Vassar College men's and women's rowing teams as both squads competed at the Poughkeepsie Regatta. Hosted by the Hudson River Rowing Association, the event took place on the Hudson River, finishing at Waryas Park just before the Mid-Hudson Bridge.
In the men's event, the Brewers squared off against Clarkson University's club boat. Vassar traversed the 5,000-meter race in a winning time of 3:10.51, ahead of the Golden Knights with a time of 3:46.36.
The Men's Collegiate 8 boat, which was rowing in the Scott A. Sandord - named for the founder of Vassar Crew in 1985 - was comprised of:

The women's event saw the Brewers go head-to-head in the collegiate 8 with Vassar's B boat defeating the A crew. The B crew posted a winning mark of 2:53.26, which was adjusted by 23:31 after the finish, while the A crew had a mark of 2:53.25 - adjusted at the end by 24:35.
