NEW HAVEN, CT - Despite a number of hard-fought efforts, the top-seeded Vassar College women's squash team was unable to solve second-seeded Northeastern University, falling by a 6-3 margin in the championship match of the Chaffee Cup E Division at the CSA Team National Championships.

The Brewers conclude their 2019-20 team season with a 10-16 overall mark, including a third-place finish at Liberty League's and a four-match win streak to open the season.

From the top of the ladder, sophomore Clair Coss shouldered a 3-0 (9-11, 5-11, 8-11) loss to Linda Manziaris, while at two, senior Sydney Nemphos battled against Sabrina Gribbel. Despite a win in the opening game, she was unable to hold on as Gribble posted the 3-1 (11-7,8-11, 6-11, 2-11) victory.

Three was a Brewers victory by sophomore Nicole Pihlstrom, who closed out CSA action with a perfect 3-0 record after winning on Sunday by a 3-1 (11-7, 7-11, 11-7, 11-5) margin over Maggie Markgraf.

Senior Samantha Henderson also completed a 3-0 mark at Nationals, battling to a 3-2 (11-7, 9-11, 11-4, 9-11, 11-6) victory against Isabelle Quarrier at four. From five, junior Amanda Watson shouldered a tough 3-0 (5-11, 10-12, 9-11) loss to Belkis Montas.

At six, junior Isabel Bronson suffered a 3-0 (8-11, 4-11, 5-11) loss to Molly Blair, while from seven, junior Alexa Elias shouldered a 3-1 (4-11, 2-11, 11-8, 4-11) loss to Ny Ho.

Freshman Odie Berkson concluded her rookie season at eight, completing a perfect 3-0 Nationals effort with a hard-fought 3-1 (11-8, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9) win against Leah Swope. Finally at nine, sophomore Lucie Bisbee suffered a tough 3-0 (8-11, 8-11, 8-11) loss to Jennifer Jin.
